Hi all, I have set up a trivial test project to try Apple-hosted background assets following the instructions in the three articles at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/backgroundassets.
When I run the local mock server with xcrun ba-serve and set the URL override in Settings as described in the "Testing asset packs locally" article, I am able to download a test pack on my iOS devices. On the Mac that I use to run the mock server, however, the same call to AssetPackManager.shared.assetPack(withID: "TestAssetPack") that works on iOS always reports
The asset pack with the ID “TestAssetPack” couldn’t be looked up: No asset pack with the ID “TestAssetPack” was found.
even when not running the mock server, which led me to believe that it may not be hitting it at all. In fact, the macOS app will download asset packs uploaded to App Store Connect even when running the local server and setting the xcrun ba-serve url-override to the exact same string as in Settings on iOS. My initial suspicion was that something is wrong with the URL override, so I have tried all combinations of the Mac's hostname, IP address or "localhost" (with the corresponding SSL certificates) with and without port 443, always prefixing with "https://" for the url-override. All the same.
Does anyone have an idea what may be the issue here?
My asset pack has the following manifest:
{
"assetPackID": "TestAssetPack",
"downloadPolicy": {
"onDemand": {}
},
"fileSelectors": [
{
"file": "TestAsset.txt"
}
],
"platforms": [
"iOS",
"macOS"
]
}
I am running v26.1 for macOS, iOS & Xcode.
Edit:
Just to be clear, my assumption here is that the URL overrides (in Settings on iOS or via ba-serve on macOS) is what should cause the app to hit the mock server. Is that correct or am I missing something?

I dutifully upgraded my software (beta) on Feb. 24 when prompted. I could not get the computer to reboot, then after about 5 hours on the phone with, I think, 4 techs, they told me the only solution was to wait for the next update - I could not go backwards to the regular version.
So $1,299 later I have a new Mac Mini M4! I have to work, so it was the only solution. What do I win?
My app has now been back and forth stuck in review for a couple weeks. This is a crucial update which we promised users weeks ago.
We tried expedited review a week ago and was quickly reviewed and rejected and apple mention not to use it again. However, my next reviews have been stuck for 5 days. I have tried to expedite again but no luck.
Is there something wrong with my review or is this a worldwide problem?
I requested the Family Controls (distribution) capability but am not sure if I did it correct. I applied, answered the questions why i needed it and submitted. Its been about 2 weeks since applying. In the app configurations, it on apple dev site, it shows in the request history that I submitted it on March 17, but I can click the request (+) button and request it again. Just want to make sure I didn't mess anything up--it seems like they would prevent me from sendin another request if I had already requested it. It hasn't taken them this long to get back to me in the past which is why I am confused. If anyone knows how to speed up the process, please let me know! Thanks.
Anyone knows to comply with Laws in Brazil, should we use all of the available age verification categories except the case selfDeclared category? In other words does Apple have a specific recommendation on which IOS categories for the verified age categories are recommended/not recommend to use for compliance?
I didn't find any info regarding this
A user of my app sent me a crash report. I have never seen one like this before. All of my app's symbols are replaced with three question marks (???)
Thread 0 Crashed:: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
0 ??? 0x10844eb40 ???
1 CoreFoundation 0x7ff80f155518 __CFNOTIFICATIONCENTER_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_AN_OBSERVER__ + 137
and the binary image as
0x0 - 0xffffffffffffffff ??? (*) <00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000> ???
so I cannot find out where exactly the crash happened.
What can cause this kind of crash report and can I do anything with it?

Targets (4) : App principale + 3 extensions (ShieldConfiguration, ShieldAction, ActivityMonitorExtension).
Capabilities requises : Family Controls (Development), App Groups.
EAS CLI Version : 18.0.6 (et versions antérieures testées).
Erreur Xcode récurrente :
error: Provisioning profile "[expo] com.*****.*** AdHoc 177230..." doesn't support the Family Controls (Development) capability..
error: Provisioning profile "... AdHoc ..." doesn't include the com.apple.developer.family-controls entitlement..
Hello,
I'm currently investigating an issue related to iOS credit card autofill (Payments & Card Details) in our mobile application.
Our app is built using React Native, and we are implementing card input fields using TextInput with the required autofill configuration:
autoComplete="cc-number"
textContentType="creditCardNumber"
Despite correctly configuring these properties, credit card autofill is not being triggered on iOS devices.
I would appreciate clarification on:
Is credit card autofill officially supported for React Native TextInput fields using autoComplete="cc-number" and textContentType="creditCardNumber"?
Are there any additional requirements (entitlements, associated domains, specific configurations, etc.) needed for payment autofill to work?
Is autofill expected to work inside WKWebView contexts?
Are there any known limitations or restrictions for third-party frameworks such as React Native?
I would appreciate any guidance or documentation you can share regarding the expected behavior and official support for this scenario
We have tried using multiple test devices to dev and test Digital Wallet provisioning and unable to do it successfully as the rule decision goes into orange flow.
This is a blocker for our project involving digial wallet provisioning testing.
Is there a way that our test devices could be excluded from hitting orange rule so we can continue with provisioning?

My phone's charging port is fried. It only charges wirelessly. Fixing it costs the same as the phone. I currently am having a lot of issues enrolling for apple developer program as well, so I can't use test flight right now.
I want to enable developer mode on my phone, but it's never been connected to xcode before, so the option is not available.
How do I enable developer mode without being able to connect it to a pc?
I have a mac, and both my mac and iphone are on the same apple id.
thank you
Hello,
There seems to be a regression with macOS SDK 15 and dynamically loading libraries if Address Sanitizer is turned on. Seems to only affect Debug builds, and .frameworks. I've also reported this via the Feedback Assistant: FB16513866
Here's a minimal repro, if anyone is interested: https://gist.github.com/peter-esik/6b00432e411be85333e14ae7d953966e
I thought I'd post this here, as according to my web searches, this isn't a very well-known bug at this point.
Hi, I'm investigating what looks like possibly nondeterministic behavior when linking large iOS app binaries. I do not have a concise reproduction of the issue yet, but am trying to hunt down possible leads. In particular, the problem appears to surface when invoking clang to link a binary and the resulting order of the 'branch island' instructions appears to be random each time the binary is linked (as shown by the link map output). I was wondering if anyone with insight into the linker's current implementation could shed light on whether that is expected, and if there is anything that can be done to prevent it. FWIW, it seems like it might be size-dependent as smaller app binaries don't appear to exhibit the same behavior. I'd be glad to share more specifics and hopefully a reproduction if I can ever find one eventually. Some environment info (Xcode 16.4 toolchain):
clang -v:
Apple clang version 17.0.0 (clang-1700.0.13.5)

It appears that a variable or object is attempting to access another object that has already been deallocated. Based on the stack trace, the issue was likely detected while layout was in progress.
Our analytics show this happens generally on app launch and occasionally during normal use.
Unfortunately, I couldn't gather additional diagnostic data. I tried to reproduce the issue using the Leaks tool and enabled runtime diagnostics (Address Sanitizer, Malloc Scribble, Zombies), but without success.
I may be overlooking something — any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
I have been working on a M1 Mac mini, using my iPad Air M2 running 26.3 iPadOS. Switched to a new M4 Mac mini, went to connect my iPad to run from Xcode and was presented this "The developer disk image could not be mounted on this device."
So how can a get an updated DDI?
I appreciate any ideas.

Every now and then I get this very frustrating message on Feedback Assistant.
For instance, in FB14696726 I reported an issue with the App Store Connect API. 4 weeks later, I got a reply, asking among other things for a „correlation key and Charles log“. I immediately replied saying that I didn‘t know what those are, and they replied
After reviewing your feedback, it is unclear what the exact issue is.
I pointed out that I had asked a question which was left unanswered, and they replied explaining what the correlation key is. Then I asked again what the Charles log is. They replied
The Apple Developer website provides access to a range of videos covering various topics on using and developing with Apple technologies. You can find these videos on our Development Videos page: http://developer.apple.com/videos.
I opened the link and searched for „Charles“ but there were no results, so I asked to kindly point me to the video answering my question. They replied 3 months later (today):
Following up on our last message, we believe this issue is either resolved or not reproducible with the information provided and will now consider this report closed internally. This Feedback will no longer be monitored, and incoming messages will not be reviewed.
This is not the first time I ask for clarification and get back a message basically telling me that „we won‘t answer any questions you may have and won‘t hear anything you still may have to say about this issue“. They didn‘t even ask me to verify if the issue is resolved or not, like they sometimes do. No, they just shut the door in my face.
I just wanted to share this frustrating experience. Perhaps an Apple engineer wants to say something about it or a developer has had a similar experience?
I'm trying to authenticate to a git host using SSH keys stored in 1Password. I have ~/.ssh/config with mode 600 set with a symlink:
Host *
IdentityAgent "~/.1password/agent.sock"
But ssh-add -l shows no identities. If I set $SSH_AUTH_SOCK, ssh-add -l works just fine. I'd love to not have to do this, though.
Why doesn't ssh-add seem to read ~/.ssh/config? The built-in version is OpenSSH_10.0p2, LibreSSL 3.3.6.
I've searched fruitlessly for an answer anywhere else.
"UITests recording reports 'The capability "Create Service Socket" is not supported by this device.' on M1 chip, but works normally on Intel chip."
currently i'm in xcode 26.2 which want's me to use ios 26.2 but i only have ios 18.2 and i can't figure out how to make xcode use that simulator

I'm adding a few custom signposts with mxSignpost(.begin,...) and mxSignpost(.end,...). Is there a way to force delivery of the MXMetricPayload so I don't need to wait for the daily aggregation to be pushed?
