The documentation specifies that when Contacts framework returns unified contacts that each fetched unified contact object (CNContact) has its own unique identifier that’s different from any individual contact’s identifier in the set of linked contacts and that when refetching a unified contact, that this identifier should be used.
There is also an analogous identifier within the list of contactRelations, but each of these don't seem to corespondent to the unified contacts. For example, is a new contact (Sheryl Zakroff) is created in the simulator Contacts and their spouse is set to Hank Zakroff. However, the GUID created for the contactRelations identifier does not correlate to the original Hank Zakroff GUID and cannot be searched.
Is this a bug or what is the indent of the contactRelations identifier?
Here's a debug output of walking the unifiedContacts:

Hello,
I developed an Open Source Apple Virtualization + QEMU VM manager for macOS, called MacMulator (GitHub repo here).
In my app I have a UITableView containing a list of VMs, and I let the user delete or configure a VM through a 2 finger swipe on the corresponding table row.
To do this, I added 2 NSTableViewRowActions to my NSTableView, through this code:
func tableView(_: NSTableView, rowActionsForRow _: Int, edge _: NSTableView.RowActionEdge) -> [NSTableViewRowAction] {
[
NSTableViewRowAction(style: NSTableViewRowAction.Style.destructive, title: NSLocalizedString("VirtualMachineListViewController.delete", comment: ""), handler: { _, index in self.deleteVirtualMachine(index) }),
NSTableViewRowAction(style: NSTableViewRowAction.Style.regular, title: NSLocalizedString("VirtualMachineListViewController.edit", comment: ""), handler: { _, index in self.editVirtualMachine(index) }),
]
}
This actions work fine, but on macOS Tahoe the UI does not draw the background of the 2 buttons, despite the style. The same build in macOS Sequoia work fine (See pictures below).
Am I missing something? I did not find and change related to this feature in Tahoe documentation.
My UI is not built with SwiftUI, but with storyboards. I don't know if this is relevant.
Thanks to whoever will help.

Unexpected behavior encountered when scanning NFC tags.
Imagine a link shortener web service where users can create lots of different URLs that are hosted on the same domain eg, https://short.com/unique-path
The service has optional App Clip capability -- users can select any of their links and have the service create an App Clip for the selected link(s).
Users can encode their URLs into NFC tags and have their customers scan NFC tags.
Let's take just two URLs for example:
https://short.com/foo
https://short.com/bar
The /foo link does have an App Clip associated with it while /bar does not have it. Each link has been encoded into appropriate NFC tag.
Expected behavior when scanning from an iPhone:
/foo -- shows an App Clip popup.
/bar -- shows a "Open in Safari" default notification.
What's actually happening
/foo -- opens App Clip poput with correct metadata (title, subtitle, image) which is totally expected behavior.
/bar (the one that doesn't have app clip associated with it) -- opens an App-Clip-like popup with the following error: CPSErrorDomainError 2 (see attachment below)
So for some reason when someone scans an NFC tag with a URL that is not an App Clip and never has been -- it always shows that error regardless whether the URL exists or does not exist. I've tried few different/random URLs (which don't have an App Clip associated with it) and all of them show the same error.
Additional details:
All links use the same domain and URL format: domain.com/path where path is a short string of random a-Z characters.
All App Clips are created at the same iOS app.
AASA is good: Cache and Debug -- both green.
This issue has happened to lots of users on lots of different iPhones and iOS'.
Since the issue's been happening to lots of different users on different iPhone(s)/iOS' no sysdiagnose is attached. Actually it works the same on every device/iOS we've tried.
Before submitting the issue, I've found few other developers reporting the same issue.
What's interesting though is none of the links I've went through comes with a definite answer and it seems like this issue just randomly comes and goes without any specific changes on the server and/or iOS app.
Dropping the links of similar issues below.

The APP was not awakened by system after start a liveactivity and the liveactivity has showed on lock screen.so the updatetoken wont send to our inner server and the liveactivity can not update,often like this,but sometimes it can work.
it makes me confuse,and i don't know how should i can do,because the liveactivity like a black box,i can not analyse the data link.for example ,inner server send a start liveactivity,but it can not accept a updatetoken unless the user lanuch APP.
i hope the liveactivity can start and update on background. And i have developed it as described in the document.
Hope to get your help,thank you very much.

I use ARKit for motion tracking. I get the skeleton joint coordinates and use them for animation. I didn't make any changes to the code, but I updated the iOS version from 18 to 26, and modelTransform now always returns nil.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/arskeleton3d/modeltransform(for:)
For example
bodyAnchor.skeleton.modelTransform(for: .init(rawValue: "head_joint"))
bodyAnchor is ARBodyAnchor.
I see the default skeleton on the screen, but now I can't get the coordinates out of it.
I'm using an example from Apple's WWDC presentation.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/capturing-body-motion-in-3d
Are there any changes in the API? Or just bug?
I've followed the setup process to get Apple Hosted Background Assets configured for my project.
(https://developer.apple.com/documentation/backgroundassets/downloading-apple-hosted-asset-packs)
But when I build and run the app I get the following error...
BackgroundAssets/AssetPackManager.swift:174: Fatal error: The process lacks a team ID.
I've checked the Signing->Team for both targets and they both have my Team associated.
Any help or advice would be appreciated...
Up until some point relatively recently, I have been able to use Safari's web inspector to connect to the iOS simulator in order to debug our web application in development at http://localhost:8088.
Now, the web inspector still OPENS, but it opens in a broken state. The context is available to select from Safari's "Develop" menu: Develop > "iPhone 16 Pro (Simulator)" > "localhost - login". It appears under the Safari heading if I have navigated to the web app in the browser, or under the Expo heading if I am accessing it through the webview in our React Native wrapper app. When I select it, the web inspector window does appear.
However, once it opens, the Elements pane is empty, the Console pane is empty, expressions entered into the console are not evaluated, there's no content in Sources, Network, Storage, etc.
Important notes:
This broken state happens at http://localhost:8088 as well as http://127.0.0.1:8088, and it seems that the insecure context is the issue.
The web inspector DOES work for HTTPS sites. If I navigate to, e.g., https://example.com in the simulator and connect the web inspector, everything works fine.
The web inspector also works fine in Safari on macOS (OUTSIDE the simulator) when accessing non-HTTPS sites. It's only a problem for non-HTTPS sites when connecting to the simulator.
A coworker has the same problem, so it is not isolated to my machine.
I would enable TLS locally as a workaround, but this web app is very complex, and I know from experience that it is very difficult for various reasons to set it up properly for our project in development, and it will take significant non-trivial work to do so.
So... Why is this happening? Is this expected behavior? Is there a way that I can debug my site on localhost without HTTPS?
Is anyone else getting new warning about menu items with submenus when running on Tahoe? I'm getting big performance problems using my menu as well as seeing these messages and I'm wondering if there's a connection.
My app is faceless with a NSStatusItem with an NSMenu. Specifically it's my own subclass of NSMenu where I have a lot of code to manage the menu's dynamic behavior. This code is directly in the menu subclass instead of in a controller because the app I forked had it this way, a little wacky but I don't see it being a problem. A nib defines the contents of the menu, and it's instantiated manually with code like:
var nibObjects: NSArray? = []
guard let nib = NSNib(nibNamed: "AppMenu", bundle: nil) else { ... }
guard nib.instantiate(withOwner: owner, topLevelObjects: &nibObjects) else { ... }
guard let menu = nibObjects?.compactMap({ $0 as? Self }).first else { ... }
Within that nib.instantiate call I see a warning logged that seems new to Tahoe, before the menu's awakeFromNib is called, that says (edited):
Internal inconsistency in menus - menu <NSMenu: 0x6000034e5340> believes it has <My_StatusItem_App.AppMenu: 0x7f9570c1a440> as a supermenu, but the supermenu does not seem to have any item with that submenu
My_StatusItem_App.AppMenu: 0x7f9570c1a440 is my menu belonging to the NSStatusItem, NSMenu: 0x6000034e5340 is the submenu of one of its menu items.
At a breakpoint in the NSMenu subclass's awakeFromNib I print self and see clear evidence of the warning's incorrectness. Below is a snippet of the console including the full warning, only edited for clarity and brevity. It shows on line 32 menu item with placeholder title "prototype batch item" that indeed has that submenu.

Is this seemingly incorrect inconsistency message harmless? Am I only grasping at straws to think it has some connection to the performance issues with this menu?
ASO often feels like a constant uphill battle for indie iOS devs - the rules keep shifting, results are unpredictable, and competing with big-budget apps can be discouraging.
Has anyone here actually figured out what truly works for indie apps, or is ASO just a never-ending grind we all face?

I've recently installed 26.1 Beta 3 alongside stable 26.0.1
When building my app with 26.0.1 the final .ipa size is ~17mb, however after building my app with 26.1 Beta 3 the size has increased up to ~22mb
The main difference is Assets.car blowing from 1.1mb to 5.6mb (or 8.6mb if I include all icons settings). Upon examining I've found new liquid glass .icon file duplicating itself multiple times as png variants (any, dark, tinted, etc).
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
It seems to me that NSStagedMigrationManager has algorithmic issues. It doesn't perform staged migration, if all its stages are NSLightweightMigrationStage.
You can try it yourself. There is a test project with three model versions V1, V2, V3, V4. Migrating V1->V2 is compatible with lightweight migration, V2->V3, V3->V4 is also compatible, but V1->V3 is not. I have following output:
Migrating V1->V2, error: nil
Migrating V2->V3, error: nil
Migrating V3->V4, error: nil
Migrating V1->V3, no manager, error: Optional("Persistent store migration failed, missing mapping model.")
Migrating V1->V3, lightweight[1, 2, 3], error: Optional("Persistent store migration failed, missing mapping model.")
Migrating V1->V3, lightweight[1]->lightweight[2]->lightweight[3], error: Optional("Persistent store migration failed, missing mapping model.")
Migrating V1->V3, custom[1->2]->lightweight[3], error: nil
Migrating V1->V3, lightweight[1]->custom[2->3], error: nil
Migrating V1->V3, custom[1->2]->custom[2->3], error: nil
Migrating V1->V4, error: Optional("Persistent store migration failed, missing mapping model.")
Migrating V2->V4, error: nil
Migrating V1->V4, custom[1->2]->lightweight[3, 4], error: nil
Migrating V1->V4, lightweight[3, 4]->custom[1->2], error: Optional("A store file cannot be migrated backwards with staged migration.")
Migrating V1->V4, lightweight[1, 2]->lightweight[3, 4], error: Optional("Persistent store migration failed, missing mapping model.")
Migrating V1->V4, lightweight[1]->custom[2->3]->lightweight[4], error: nil
Migrating V1->V4, lightweight[1,4]->custom[2->3], error: nil
Migrating V1->V4, custom[2->3]->lightweight[1,4], error: Optional("Persistent store migration failed, missing mapping model.")
I think that staged migration should satisfy the following rules for two consecutive stages:
Any version of lightweight stage to any version of lightweight stage;
Any version of lightweight stage to current version of custom stage;
Next version of custom stage to any version of lightweight stage;
Next version of custom stage to current version of custom stage.
However, rule 1 doesn't work, because migration manager skips intermediate versions if they are inside lightweight stages, even different ones.
Note that lightweight[3, 4]->custom[1->2] doesn't work, lightweight[1,4]->custom[2->3] works, but custom[2->3]->lightweight[1,4] doesn't work again.
Would like to hear your opinion on that, especially, from Core Data team, if possible.
Thanks!
I recently released the first version of my app, and it was discoverable via App Store search. After pushing an update with bug fixes and improved keywords/category, the new version went live and showed as “Ready for Sale” within hours.
However, since the update, the app no longer appears in App Store search results - even when searched using its exact name. It’s still accessible through the direct link. Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I'm investigating what looks like possibly nondeterministic behavior when linking large iOS app binaries. I do not have a concise reproduction of the issue yet, but am trying to hunt down possible leads. In particular, the problem appears to surface when invoking clang to link a binary and the resulting order of the 'branch island' instructions appears to be random each time the binary is linked (as shown by the link map output). I was wondering if anyone with insight into the linker's current implementation could shed light on whether that is expected, and if there is anything that can be done to prevent it. FWIW, it seems like it might be size-dependent as smaller app binaries don't appear to exhibit the same behavior. I'd be glad to share more specifics and hopefully a reproduction if I can ever find one eventually. Some environment info (Xcode 16.4 toolchain):

Thank you in advance.
Since the beta releases of iPadOS 26 we have been having some crashes about
Invalid parameter not satisfying: parentEnvironment != nil
We got to contact a couple of users and we found out that the crash appears when entering a screen in a UINavigationController with the iPad device connected to a Magic Keyboard. If the device is not connected to the keyboard then nothing happens and everything works ok.
From our end we haven't managed to reproduce the crash so I am pasting part of the stacktrace if it can be of any help.

Hello,
I'm working on a game that features online multiplayer. The game is developed using Unity and Apple Unity plugins.
The "isUnderAge" property restricts the online multiplayer feature. Everything works as expected on all platforms (Mac, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, and visionPro) except on Macs equipped with an Intel chip.
Using the same iCloud and GameCenter, with no restrictions enabled, "isUnderAge" returns false, as expected, but on Mac equipped with an Intel chip, it returns true.
Is there any restriction or compatibility issue with those chips? Is there a workaround?
Thanks

Any view that is content for the tabViewBottomAccessory API fails to retain its state as of the last couple of 26.1 betas (and RC). The loss of state happens (at least) when the currently selected tab is switched (filed as FB20901325).
Here's code to reproduce the issue:
struct ContentView: View {
@State private var selectedTab = TabSelection.one
enum TabSelection: Hashable {
case one, two
}
var body: some View {
TabView(selection: $selectedTab) {
Tab("One", systemImage: "1.circle", value: .one) {
BugExplanationView()
}
Tab("Two", systemImage: "2.circle", value: .two) {
BugExplanationView()
}
}
.tabViewBottomAccessory {
AccessoryView()
}
}
}
struct AccessoryView: View {
@State private var counter = 0 // This guy's state gets lost (as of iOS 26.1)
var body: some View {
Stepper("Counter: \(counter)", value: $counter)
.padding(.horizontal)
}
}
struct BugExplanationView: View {
var body: some View {
ScrollView {
VStack(alignment: .leading, spacing: 16) {
Text("(1) Manipulate the counter state")
Text("(2) Then switch tabs")
Text("BUG: The counter state gets unexpectedly reset!")
}
.multilineTextAlignment(.leading)
}
}
}
Good day,
I've uploaded a build to TestFlight, but received an automated response with the following error:
ITMS-90426: Invalid Swift Support - The SwiftSupport folder is missing. Rebuild your app using the current public (GM) version of Xcode and resubmit it.
Our project started in Objective-C and have mixed swift class and pods. The last uploaded build without any automated response was Nov 8, 2023.
I'm using XCode Version 26.0.1 (17A400). I've tried every way i found in internet and i'm not able to find any solution for this.
ALWAYS_EMBED_SWIFT_STANDARD_LIBRARIES = YES
use_frameworks! :linkage => :dynamic (in pods)
We would appreciate any assistance in clarifying why this issue is occurring and how we should proceed to address it. Your guidance would mean a lot.
Thank you.
