Spatial Audio on Mac - When and how to render using Audio Units?
I'm working on adding Spatial Audio support to a game on the Mac. I'm looking at the SpatialAudioRenderer sample but having some issues. It's unclear to me when a device is compatible with Spatial Audio and when I should attempt to render Spatial Audio. There is no property that I can find on the Mac that advertises Spatial Audio compatibility on a device. The sample crashes when the output device is a USB device. This includes the Apple Studio Display. The Apple Studio Display is supposed to be capable of rendering Spatial Audio. The device doesn't work with the sample - do I still need to render down the 7.1.4 source on this device? The sample always renders down to Stereo, but the Apple Studio Display is not a Stereo device. I'm a bit confused by the sample and when/how I should configure the mixing unit.

How to animate `UIHostingController.view` frame when my View's size changes?
I have a UIHostingController on which I have set: hostingController.sizingOptions = [.intrinsicContentSize] The size of my SwiftUI content changes with animation (I update a @Published property on an ObservableObject inside a withAnimation block). However, I notice that my hostingController.view just jumps to the new frame without animating the change. Question: how can I animate the frame changes in UIHostingController that are caused by sizingOptions = [.intrinsicContentSize]

iOS App Review: Guidelines 5.1.1(i) - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and 5.1.2(i) - Legal - Privacy - Data Use
Our app (Tenkobo) received a rejection notice after review due to the fact that we use Gemini AI since 3 builds ago. Since then, we have been improving the disclosure of the data we collect, explicitly stating all the data, introducing a new feature that checks granular consent and syncs consent state for the user to the backend, and controls for whether to send to the Gemini API service for that feature depending on consent state for the user. Moreover, this feature is a premium add-on to a module that already does most things locally on the device and sends to our cloud infrastructure to allow storage and sync when users use multiple devices. It is a multi-platform app. However, despite every improvement, we keep getting the same Rejection reason that " ... Review Device: iPad Air 11-inch (M3) ... The issues we previously identified still need your attention. Guidelines 5.1.1(i) - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and 5.1.2(i) - Legal - Privacy - Data Use The app appears to share the user’s personal data with a third-party AI service but the app does not clearly explain what data is sent, identify who the data is sent to, and ask the user’s permission before sharing the data. Apps may only use, transmit, or share personal data after they meet all of the following requirements: Disclose what data will be sent Specify who the data is sent to Obtain the user’s permission before sending data Identify in the privacy policy what data the app collects, how it collects that data, all uses of that data, and confirm any third party the app shares data with provides the same or equal protection Next Steps Revise the app to explain what data is sent, identify who the data is sent to, and ask the user’s permission before sharing personal data with a third-party AI service. If it does not already, the app’s privacy policy must also identify what data the app collects, how it collects that data, and all uses of that data, including if it is shared with a third-party AI service. " I have asked for help or even that the rejection reason be more specific, but nothing. I have send pictures, and in this last rejection about 8 hours ago, I had to reply with a video showing that what they are asking for is already there. Please, what else can we do? We have requested a review meeting with App Review, the entire product plans are now on the verge of being irredeemably disrupted, and the company could go bankrupt just because our reviewer does not deem it fit to tell us exactly what they are expecting to see. Anyone with experience in this area should kindly provide some advise on what to do now. Thank you.

Error when updating system extension
I'm currently observing a problem similar to this thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/737334 The difference is that this is happening after updating a system extension. Basically same error, sysextd complains it can not check that the system extension is notarized: macOS Error 3 + Error code=-67050. I think macOS (Sequoia 15.3.2 or 15.7.2 if it matters) is wrong in this case for the following reasons: when using spctl assess -t install, the system extension is reported to be correctly notarized. when restarting the Mac, the updated system extension is correctly checked and staged. if I run spctl assess before sysextd tries to check the system extension, it works. I'm currently thinking of 2 reasons why the check does not work: sysextd is somehow trying to work with a cached assessment that has become invalid after the system extension was updated. macOS needs way more time between the update of the files and the request to update the staged extension. I tried adding a 5-second delay. This does not seem to work or at least reliably. I tried just touching the system extension, no positive result. Unfortunately, in macOS Sequoia, it is not possible anymore to reset-default using spctl and see if it solves the issue, at least the next time the update is performed. [Q] Is there some magic operation that would help macOS correctly check the notarization of an updated system extension?

Built in ssh-add doesn't read ~/.ssh/config
I'm trying to authenticate to a git host using SSH keys stored in 1Password. I have ~/.ssh/config with mode 600 set with a symlink: Host * IdentityAgent "~/.1password/agent.sock" But ssh-add -l shows no identities. If I set $SSH_AUTH_SOCK, ssh-add -l works just fine. I'd love to not have to do this, though. Why doesn't ssh-add seem to read ~/.ssh/config? The built-in version is OpenSSH_10.0p2, LibreSSL 3.3.6. I've searched fruitlessly for an answer anywhere else.

App not appearing in App Store search for over 6 weeks — including branded searches for its own name
I'm hoping someone from Apple engineering can help, as support tickets and callbacks have not resolved this issue. The problem: My app "Brutal Time - Typographic Clock" does not appear in App Store search results at all — not even when searching for its exact name "Brutal Time." This has been ongoing for over six weeks. Additionally, the app does not appear in Apple Search Ads when I try to set up a campaign — suggesting this is a backend indexing issue, not a ranking issue. Timeline: Dec 17, 2025: App launched, initially searchable Dec 31, 2025: Transitioned to freemium model, became invisible in search. Jan 5, 2026: Fixed the issue, submitted update (v2.02), approved same day Jan 14, 2026: Submitted metadata update (v2.03) to improve discoverability, approved same day Feb 8, 2026: Tried removing from sale and re-adding to force re-index — no effect Feb 10, 2026: Still not appearing in any search results What I've tried: Submitted multiple support tickets (most recent: Case #102797235758) Each ticket generates an automated reply stating Apple will respond within 2 business days — they never have Requested and received callbacks multiple times, was told it would be escalated to US engineering team. But no follow-up, no resolution, no explanation Removed from sale and re-added to attempt to force re-indexing — didn't work App shows "Ready for Distribution" in App Store Connect Direct link works fine: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/brutal-time-typographic-clock/id6756289461 Response from Apple Support: "The behavior you observed is expected. App Store charts and search results change regularly and we don't guarantee app placement." This response misses the point entirely. I'm not asking about rankings — I'm asking why the app is completely invisible in search, including for its own branded name. This is not an isolated issue. Other developers have reported the same problem with the same non-response from Apple: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/803937 https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/73981 https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/74110 Has anyone found a resolution? Is there any way to trigger a proper re-index, or escalate to someone who can actually investigate?

NSTableView/NSScrollView jumping scroll position during NSSplitView resize
This is a very basic macOS Finder-style test app using AppKit. I am experiencing a "jump" in the vertical scroll position of my NSTableView (inside an NSScrollView) specifically when the window is resized horizontally. This happens when columns are visually added or removed. Framework: AppKit (Cocoa) Xcode/macOS: 26.2 Code: https://github.com/MorusPatre/Binder/blob/main/ContentView%20-%20Scroll%20Jump%20during%20Resize.swift

.glassProminent leading toolbar item animation issue on push navigation
Hi, I have an issue with applying the .glassProminent modifier to a button placed in the leading section the nav bar that triggers a push navigation to another screen in iOS 26. I have made a simple sample project to verify it happens there too, and I'm getting the same behaviour where the prominent button "flashes" with a darker background and disappears. The HIG does mention not tinting or adding custom backgrounds to tool bar items in iOS 26, so I'm unsure if this is a bug in iOS 26 or the unexpected behaviour they refer to when adding custom tint/backgrounds. Below is the simplified sample app code: var body: some View { NavigationStack { VStack { Text("Main Screen") .font(.largeTitle) } .navigationTitle("Home") .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) .toolbar { ToolbarItem(placement: .navigationBarLeading) { NavigationLink(destination: SecondScreen()) { Text("Push Nav") } .buttonStyle(.glassProminent) } } } } } struct SecondScreen: View { var body: some View { VStack { Text("Second Screen") .font(.largeTitle) } .navigationTitle("Settings") .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } }

Did Apple adjust ASO ranking factors? Metadata and rankings appear impacted.
Noticed a sudden drop in my keyword rankings recently and after some digging, it looks like Apple rolled out a major ASO update, which a lot of developers seem to be talking about. Curious if anyone has insights on what specifically changed - it seems like the app title may no longer hold the same weight in keyword rankings.

How can responding to user reviews effectively contribute to improving ASO performance?
Responding to reviews helps ASO because it encourages better user sentiment, improves rating recovery, and builds trust for new users checking your app. Converting negative reviews into positive ones has a strong impact on ranking. Engaging consistently with users is one of the simplest ways to strengthen overall ASO performance.

Live Activities widget extension does not reflect updated SwiftUI UI (custom views/assets appear ignored)
Hello Apple Developer Technical Support, I’m following up on case #102807413324 and submitting this as a code-level support request. We are integrating iOS Live Activities (ActivityKit + WidgetKit extension written in SwiftUI) into an Expo/React Native app. We’re seeing behavior where the Live Activity UI shown on the Lock Screen appears to “stick” to an older layout and ignores updated SwiftUI code and/or bundled assets, even after rebuilding, reinstalling, and removing existing Live Activities before testing again. Environment Device: iPhone 13 iOS: 26.2 macOS: 15.7.3 (24G419) Xcode: 16.4 (16F6) Expo SDK: 52 React Native: 0.76.9 expo-live-activity: ^0.4.2 Build type: Ad-Hoc signed IPA (EAS local build) Summary We have a WidgetKit extension target (LiveActivity.appex, bundle id: stimul8.LiveActivity) using ActivityConfiguration(for: LiveActivityAttributes.self). The extension contains multiple SwiftUI views selected via a “route” (derived from deepLinkUrl / title / subtitle), and uses images/backgrounds from the extension asset catalog (Assets.xcassets). We also support loading images from an App Group container with a fallback to the asset catalog. After shipping updates, the Live Activity UI shown on the Lock Screen continues to resemble an older/default layout (example: a progress-bar-like element remains visible even after removing ProgressView usage from LiveActivityView.swift). Some custom backgrounds/images also fail to display as expected. Routing (examples) /streak -> StreakLiveActivityView /streak-urgent -> StreakUrgentLiveActivityView /lesson/create -> AILessonLiveActivityView1 /lesson/reminder -> AILessonLiveActivityView2 default -> LiveActivityView Steps to reproduce (high-level) Install/build and trigger a Live Activity. Modify the SwiftUI layout in the extension (e.g., remove ProgressView and change obvious UI elements), rebuild, and reinstall. Remove any existing Live Activities from the Lock Screen, then trigger a new Live Activity again. Observed: Lock Screen Live Activity still renders the prior/older-looking UI and/or ignores updated assets. Troubleshooting already done Verified the extension (LiveActivity.appex) is included in the IPA and properly signed. Verified Assets.car is present in the extension and PNG assets are present in the build artifacts. Ensured SwiftUI source files used by the extension are overwritten during prebuild so the intended versions are present in ios/LiveActivity. Cleared DerivedData related to LiveActivity builds. Reinstalled the app and removed existing Live Activities from the Lock Screen before re-triggering new ones. Questions Is there any known caching behavior where Live Activities can continue to display a previous UI layout after an app/extension update, even when the activity is re-created? Are there recommended steps to force the system to load the newest widget extension binary/UI beyond reinstalling and removing existing Live Activities? What’s the recommended way to confirm which exact extension binary/UI version is being rendered on-device (e.g., specific Console logs, sysdiagnose signals, or other indicators)? Are there any known constraints with Assets.xcassets usage for Live Activities that could cause bundled assets not to render even when present? We can provide A minimal reproduction Xcode project (preferred) The IPA build Build logs (Xcode/EAS) Screenshots/video and a sysdiagnose captured after reproduction Thank you for your guidance. Best regards

No response from Apple Developer Support since 25 January (Email & Call both not working)
Hello, I am writing here to seek guidance regarding an ongoing issue with Apple Developer Support, as I have not received any response through any official support channel. Since 25 January, I have: Raised multiple support tickets and emails via App Store Connect Tried to contact Apple Developer Support by call (the call option is visible in my account) Scheduled/requested calls where applicable However: No email responses have been received No calls are coming through, even after requesting/scheduling There has been no acknowledgement or update on my issue Due to this, my issue remains completely unresolved, and I currently have no way to follow up or escalate. I would like clarification on the following: Why there has been no response since 25 January, despite multiple attempts Why the call option is visible but no call is received What is the correct escalation process when both email and call support are unresponsive Whether there is an expected response timeline for such cases My intention is not to raise a complaint, but to understand how I can properly communicate with Apple Developer Support and receive guidance on my issue. If any Apple representative or developer who has experienced a similar situation can provide direction, it would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time and support.

Questions about the Swift Student Challenge
Hello! I've been wondering about how strict the rules are for multilingual content in submissions, and also what I can use as screenshots. There are screens in my app, explained and accompanied by English, that have Chinese text/audio on them. Is this appropriate? Reading the Terms & Conditions says that "All content must be in English", but because multicultural themes are a main point of my app, it seems unavoidable to use other languages. I've attached images that show what I'm talking about: About the screenshots in my submission, am I allowed to show two screenshots side-by-side of a before & after of what an interaction does in one image? It'd look like two phone screenshots right next to each other.

How to visualize AR-dependent app if not supported on Simulator for Swift Student Challenge?
Recently, applications for the Swift Student Challenge opened up. I noticed, that when selected "where to run your app" (mine was developed in Xcode 26), and you select Xcode26, there is a note underneath it that basically says all Xcode projects will be run on the simulator. What if my project is dependent on AR? How would I let the judges test my submission?

"Notarization stuck in 'In Progress' for 15+ hours - submission e3dff14c-16ab-41a7-a81c-0d1774c66588"
Notarization submission has been stuck in "In Progress" status for over 15 hours with no resolution. Hi there, I am trying to roll out distribution to paid users who are unable to receive anything from me for quite some time now, and I've read that notarization is quick. But I've found myself to be under quite a delay. Wondering if I could please get some help. Submission Details: ID: e3dff14c-16ab-41a7-a81c-0d1774c66588 Submitted: 2026-02-08T16:42:07.377Z File: Resonant-0.1.0-arm64.dmg (~200MB) Status: In Progress (stuck) Evidence: Upload completed successfully within minutes Delay is entirely server-side processing Same app structure notarized successfully on Feb 5 (submission f5f4c241) Multiple other submissions stuck since Feb 5 (see history below) Stuck Submissions (all "In Progress" for days): e3dff14c (Feb 8, 16:42 UTC) - 15+ hours 3e6bdcb5 (Feb 8, 16:11 UTC) - 16+ hours 37fd1b9f (Feb 8, 12:53 UTC) - 20+ hours f21a1d9b (Feb 8, 12:31 UTC) - 20+ hours (different app, Clippa.zip) 417244e8 (Feb 8, 06:18 UTC) - 26+ hours 891f370f (Feb 7, 11:44 UTC) - 2+ days 1debba51 (Feb 7, 05:44 UTC) - 2+ days 6a06b87f (Feb 6, 14:16 UTC) - 3+ days 9867261c (Feb 6, 13:44 UTC) - 3+ days 1a7c3967 (Feb 6, 12:58 UTC) - 3+ days Last Successful Notarization: f5f4c241 (Feb 5, 18:24 UTC) - Accepted in normal timeframe Impact: Unable to distribute production release. This is blocking critical bug fixes from reaching users. Expected Behavior: Notarization should complete within 2-10 minutes as documented and as experienced prior to Feb 5. Request: Please investigate why submissions are not being processed and either: Clear the backlog and process pending submissions Provide guidance on how to proceed with distribution

Team Member Can’t access Certificates, Identifiers, and Profiles
Here on the forums I see a lot of reports like this: According to App Store Connect, I’m an Admin member of a team, but I can’t access the Certificates, Identifiers, and Profiles section of the Developer website for that team. There’s one really common reason for this, namely that this is an Individual team. This is clearly documented in Developer Account Help > Access > Roles and access, which says: If you’re enrolled as an individual and add users in App Store Connect, users receive access only to your content in App Store Connect and are not considered part of your team in the Apple Developer Program. So, if App Store Connect indicates that you’re a team Admin but you can’t access Certificates, Identifiers, and Profiles, it’s critical that you check that this is not an Individual team. To do this: Log on to Developer > Account. Select the correct team at the top right. Scroll down to the “Membership details” section. Look at the “Enrolled as” field. If it says “Individual”, then only the team’s Account Holder can access Certificates, Identifiers, and Profiles. OTOH, if it says something else, like “Organization” or “Enterprise”, then see below. If you’re working for someone else who only has an Individual team, I recommend that you encourage them to update to an Organization team. For advice on how to do that, see Developer Account Help > Membership > Updating your account information > Updating an individual membership to an organization membership. If you can’t access Certificates, Identifiers, and Profiles and you’re absolutely sure that this is not an Individual team, I recommend that you seek formal assistance via Apple > Developer > Contact Us. Misusing a Mutex

iOS UDP Multicast: Receiving works but sending silently fails
Hi everyone, I’m working with UDP Multicasting on iOS (iOS 15+) using Network.framework and facing a confusing issue. Setup: Multicast IP: 239.255.0.1 Port: 45454 Using NWConnectionGroup / NWMulticastGroup NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription is present in Info.plist Devices are on the same Wi-Fi network Problem: Receiving multicast packets works perfectly Sending multicast packets does NOT work No errors are thrown send() completion handler reports success stateUpdateHandler sometimes doesn’t transition to .ready No packets are actually transmitted on the network Observations: The app can receive data from other multicast senders Sending appears to be silently blocked Reinstalling the app fixes the issue This points to a Local Network permission problem If permission was denied once, iOS does not re-prompt Inbound multicast works, outbound multicast is blocked Questions: Is it expected on iOS that receiving multicast works even when sending is blocked? Is reinstalling the app the only way to recover if Local Network permission was denied? Is there any reliable runtime way to detect that outbound multicast is blocked? Is NWConnectionGroup the correct and only supported way to send multicast on iOS? Any clarification or official guidance would really help. Thanks in advance!
