Xcode 16.0 and 16.1 regression: only allows .scn files to be added to .scnassets group
There is a significant regression in Xcode 16.0 and 16.1 (16B5014f) in that it no longer allows asset files other than .SCN files to be added to a .scnasset group and folder. This really wrecks our ability to maintain our app since we heavily depend on additional assets like .USDZ, .JPEG, .PNG, etc. files to be able to be included in the group for on-demand resource tagging and loading. I filed FB15239224 but I'm wondering if this is intentional and if anyone knows of a workaround.

My account holder access is blocked
The Account Holder is no longer able to log into apple (regardless of web-based or device based attempts). The membership will expire soon without access to the account holder. Both workflows "iforgot.apple.com" and "iforgot.apple.com/unlock" did not lead to an answer email within several days. I tried several times. So we are almost out of store without any option. Hotline did not show other options. Any ideas?

App Not Appearing in "Available Apps" List in Watch App
I’ve developed an Apple Watch extension for an existing iOS app. When I run the app on the watch via Xcode using the simulator, everything works fine. However, when I try to install it on my iPhone, the Watch app doesn’t show it in the "Available Apps" list, so I can't install it on the watch. The Apple Watch is connected to my iPhone, and I can see other apps available for installation without any issues. I also created a brand new project with watchOS support to troubleshoot, but the same problem occurred. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Set date and time in iOS Simulator
I am trying to fix a bug in my iOS app that is dependent upon date and time. Is there any way to set the actual time on the iOS Simulator to a specific date and time? I know that you can set one for the status bar, but that doesn't affect the actual date and time that is reported by the system to apps.

Unable to verify my identity for Apple Developer account enrollment
Initially, I had some issues enrolling in the individual Apple developer program. Then, I contacted support via email, and they finally requested that I verify my identity. I submitted my national ID for verification and then received an email stating that my identity was verified. After that, I tried to enroll in the Apple developer program, but the issue persisted even after they instructed me to proceed. Subsequently, I received an email stating that my identity was not verified. Here is the exact wording from the email: "We can’t verify your identity with the Apple Developer app or provide further assistance with the Apple Account for Apple developer programs." After that, I tried to reach support several times, but there has been no response from them.

Best Practices: Dependency management for local packages
I have a project which contains local packages. One of the packages has an explicit dependency on package A, but the main project also has the same dependency. Both of them are pinned to the exact version at all times. Should I manage "shared" dependencies at the project level for local packages? This seems counter intuitive at first, but this question is originating from me fighting with a "Build service could not create build operation: unable to load transferred PIF: The workspace contains multiple references with the same GUID" error in Xcode 16 (all versions). It happens when I switch branches. Closing and reopening Xcode does resolve the issue, but it's a real flow killer. The guide below doesn't mention dependency graph best practice. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/organizing-your-code-with-local-packages Thank in advance.

Team membership not appearing in Xcode
I have a major problem with team membership and Xcode. I work in a company, where my apple account was added to the development team with app manager role. I can see that on the apple portal, everything seems fine there. I have been also provided with the provisioning profile for the project and signing certificate of the company. However, when I log into Xcode the team does not show up anywhere. I am able to build the app, but cannot distribute to TestFlight (or anywhere else). When I use manual signing to choose the signing certificate it shows the "unknown team" message next to it. When I check my account in xcode it also only shows my personal team and does not allow to pick any other one (doesn't show any other one). When I click the "+" button on my xcode account to add a certificate an error pops up: "You already have active certificate or a pending request". I do have a pending request to enroll into apple developers program, but everyone says you don't need one if you are added to the team, you can just operate as a team member. Finally, when trying to upload to TestFlight, the following error is displayed: "No team for account ***" I have tried deleting and re-adding all the certificates. I have tried logging in and out of Xcode, I have tried deleting and re-adding my account in Xcode. I have tried reloading everything. My account was deleted and re-added to developers team. Nothing worked. I don't know the source of the issue, nor does my employer. I am new to ios development and this is my first project. Please help!

Xcode 16 Doesn't Display "Swift Compiler" Build Settings Sections
I am editing my iOS project in Xcode 16 and want to use the "Swift Compiler - Upcoming Features" section of the build settings to selectively enable the new Swift 6 language features. I have read the instructions for doing this and have dowloaded an Apple sample project and can see that section under the project and target-level Build Settings in the sample project However, when I open my Xcode project in XCode 16 that section does not appear. Is there any way for me to influence how Xcode 16 displays the build settings? In fact, no "Swift Compiler" sections appear at all under my project Build Settings (All | Combined). There is a "User-Defined" section that has the Swift Version, Compilation Mode and Optimization level. The project itself is several years old and was on a very old project version. I have upgraded my project document format to "Xcode 16" but it made no difference. I have compared my project and the sample project in a text editor and both seem to have similar structure. I tried removing unused and outdated settings from my project but that also had no effect. Is there an alternative to deleting my project file and adding the source files to it? I have a large project with multiple targets so that would be something I'd rather not do.

Custom font doesn't appear in Interface Builder
I installed a custom font (Font awesome) into my app. I triple checked that I did everything right: the font files are included in the bundle (they appear in the "Copy Bundle Resources" build phase) and the names of the fonts appear in the Info.plist file under "Fonts provided by application". In Interface builder, I select a Label, set the font to "Custom", then I click the Family list to select the font I want. Once or twice, I was actually able to see the Font Awesome fonts in this list and select one. However, they no longer appear there when I create new labels in new views. I do not understand why. I've been limping along by copying a label from one of the views where it worked and pasting it into the new view, but this is tiresome. I know the fonts are installed correctly because I can see them when I run the app. Why are the fonts not showing up on the font list in interface builder?

Gradient rendering issue with alpha set to something other than one
Gradients with colors that have alpha are not rendered correctly anymore. I made a simple project to illustrate that. Just create Objective C project and paste this code inside the ViewController. `#import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface CustomView : UIView @property (nonatomic, strong) NSArray<NSNumber *> *colorsArray; // The color components array // Custom initializer that accepts an NSArray of color components (instancetype)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame colors:(NSArray<NSNumber *> *)colorsArray; @end @implementation CustomView // Custom initializer (instancetype)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame colors:(NSArray<NSNumber *> *)colorsArray { self = [super initWithFrame:frame]; if (self) { _colorsArray = colorsArray; // Store the colors array } return self; } (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { // Get the current context CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); // Convert NSArray to a C-style array of CGFloats size_t count = self.colorsArray.count; CGFloat colors[count]; for (size_t i = 0; i < count; i++) { colors[i] = [self.colorsArray[i] floatValue]; } // Create a color space CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); // Create the gradient with the passed colors CGGradientRef gradient = CGGradientCreateWithColorComponents(colorSpace, colors, NULL, count / 4); // Define the start and end points of the gradient CGPoint startPoint = CGPointMake(rect.origin.x, rect.origin.y); CGPoint endPoint = CGPointMake(rect.origin.x, rect.origin.y + rect.size.height); // Draw the rectangle with the gradient CGContextSaveGState(context); CGContextAddRect(context, rect); CGContextClip(context); CGContextDrawLinearGradient(context, gradient, startPoint, endPoint, 0); CGContextRestoreGState(context); // Release resources CGGradientRelease(gradient); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); } @end @interface ViewController : UIViewController @end @implementation ViewController (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Get the screen bounds CGRect screenBounds = [UIScreen mainScreen].bounds; // Define the size of each custom view CGFloat customViewWidth = screenBounds.size.width * 0.75; CGFloat customViewHeight = screenBounds.size.height * 0.75; // Define a dynamic set of colors for the first custom view (red to blue) NSArray<NSNumber *> *colorsArray1 = @[ @1.0, @0.0, @0.0, @1.0, // Red @0.0, @0.0, @1.0, @1.0 // Blue ]; // TODO: This is the bug, there is no transparency NSNumber *alpha = @0.0;// this is the ***** bug **** // Define a dynamic set of colors for the second custom view (green to yellow) NSArray<NSNumber *> *colorsArray2 = @[ @0.0, @1.0, @0.0, alpha, // Green @1.0, @1.0, @0.0, @1.0 // Yellow ]; // Calculate the position for the first view (centered horizontally and vertically, with slight offset) CGRect frame1 = CGRectMake((screenBounds.size.width - customViewWidth) / 2 - customViewWidth * 0.25, (screenBounds.size.height - customViewHeight) / 2 - customViewHeight * 0.25, customViewWidth, customViewHeight); CustomView *customView1 = [[CustomView alloc] initWithFrame:frame1 colors:colorsArray1]; // Calculate the position for the second view (slightly shifted from the first view to partially overlap) CGRect frame2 = CGRectMake((screenBounds.size.width - customViewWidth) / 2 + customViewWidth * 0.25, (screenBounds.size.height - customViewHeight) / 2 + customViewHeight * 0.25, customViewWidth, customViewHeight); CustomView *customView2 = [[CustomView alloc] initWithFrame:frame2 colors:colorsArray2]; // Set autoresizing so they adjust with the screen size customView1.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; customView2.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; // Add the custom views to the view controller's view [self.view addSubview:customView1]; [self.view addSubview:customView2]; } @end`

Membership renewal
Hello. My developer membership is expired. I cannot renew because the renewal option/button does not appears in any device. A banner tells me: "Any apps you had on the App Store are no longer available for download and you can no longer access membership benefits. If you’d like to renew your membership to reinstate your apps and membership benefits, open the Apple Developer app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Sign in to your account, tap/click Renew, and follow the prompts. If you agreed to the Paid Applications Agreement, you’ll need to agree to it again after renewal in the Agreements, Tax and Banking section of App Store Connect." However, there's no "Renew" to tap or click anywhere in the app nor in the web. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.
