XCode 12 - Can't login to Github without Access Token???
Hey, so I wanted to pull from the Github project repository and XCode asked me login again. Forgot my password so I tried a wrong one and now it keeps asking for my Username and Access token, when I actually just want to login with my password. Doesn't let me choose between the too, not even when adding the account through preferences. Anyone know how to just login with password and the reason for this -pardon me- absolutely idiotic choice of not letting the user choose?

I know the fact that submission would be xcode project and playground correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know, we can develop prototypes for watch on playground. Background Assets: Second and subsequent download cancellations fail (iOS 26.0–26.3 RC)
Summary I'm using Background Assets to download Apple-hosted Asset Packs(downloadPolicy = onDemand). The first download cancellation succeeds, but on the second and subsequent downloads, progress.cancel() fails to work and the download completes to the end. Environment iOS 26.0 – 26.3 RC (all produce the same result) Xcode Version 26.2 (17C52) Using Apple-hosted Asset Packs Steps to Reproduce Start downloading an Asset Pack Call progress.cancel() during download → Succeeds Start downloading the same Asset Pack again Call progress.cancel() during download → Fails (download completes to the end) Observed Error Logs After 1st cancellation: A download with the ID "X-XXXXXXXX-XXX" failed: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-999 "cancelled" ↑ This is expected (cancellation succeeded) The fact that version 0 of the asset pack with the ID "X-XXXXXX-XXX" finished being downloaded couldn't be reported: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=3851 "Property list invalid for format: 200 (property lists cannot contain objects of type 'CFError')" ↑ Problem: Unable to serialize CFError to plist 2nd cancellation attempt: The download with the ID "X-XXXXXX-XXX" couldn't be canceled: Error Domain=BAErrorDomain Code=113 "The requested download operation failed because the download object did not exist." ↑ The download object we're trying to cancel supposedly doesn't exist Implementation Code // Cancel implementation func cancel(tag: String) async { let statusUpdates = AssetPackManager.shared.statusUpdates(forAssetPackWithID: tag) for await statusUpdate in statusUpdates { if case .downloading(_, let progress) = statusUpdate, progress.isCancellable { progress.cancel() } } } Analysis It appears that when the first cancellation occurs, the system internally tries to save the cancellation state to a plist, but fails to serialize the CFError object. This seems to cause an inconsistent internal state, preventing the system from correctly recognizing the download object on subsequent downloads. Questions Is there a workaround? Is there a planned fix for a future iOS version?

Questions on OS Activity Tracing
This is stemmed from another forum post on Apple Unified Logging. A few additional questions were raised towards a relevant but different topic - activity tracing, starting a new post following The Eskimo's suggestion. The first question is on log capture from an activity chain. The related documentation stated something but very vaguely. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/os/generating-log-messages-from-your-code?language=objc#Choose-the-Appropriate-Log-Level-for-Each-Message If an activity object exists, the system captures information for the related process chain We had hoped that this would somewhat play into the "speculative logging" approach we had touched upon in the original post, in the sense that if we try to log an error or fault within an activity, then it helps to capture and persist other logs on the activity chain even though they are originally not meant to be. But unfortunately from our test it didn't seem to be behaving towards that understanding. Then our question is, if we may ask - what are the exact additional information the system captures "for the related process chain"? 2nd question - are activity objects always persisted and would they also contribute to log quarantine? Our thoughts were that if we can, we'd like to create an independent activity for each event we receive from the system so the logs on every event are automatically correlated (we have a use case described in FB21839588). However as demonstrated in the FB ticket, that would mean A LOT of events and hence a lot of os_activity_create. I noticed we do have a flag Signpost-Persisted to control persisting for signposts, but there isn't a control for activities. My assumption is that they (the activity objects themselves) are always to be persisted so they would indeed contribute to quarantine in the worst case, is that correct? (Although from log stats it looks like each individual activity object is tiny in terms of storage size, so maybe they are not a big concern themselves?) And finally we noticed this control flag Propagate-with-Activity used by some logging configuration files from Apple. We didn't find any official Apple documentation but some 3rd party MDM vendors mentioned something about Propagate-with-Activity Messages attached to the activity tree Messages are attached to the activity tree in Console and crash dumps Right now based on our observation messages are always attached to the activity tree in Console regardless, and we can't seem to be able to find anything to do between activities and crash dumps. Maybe this flag is obsolete?

All notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for 24-72+ hours (including tiny 6KB test binary)
Hello, I'm experiencing a persistent issue where all my notarization submissions remain stuck in "In Progress" indefinitely. This has been happening for the past several days, affecting multiple submissions. Environment: macOS 26.2 (Build 25C56) Using xcrun notarytool submit for submissions Team ID: M3FN25UQK2 Timeline of the issue: Starting from January 2nd, 2026, my submissions began getting stuck in "In Progress" As of January 6th, I have 6+ submissions that have been "In Progress" for 24-72+ hours Prior to this, notarization was working normally (I have multiple "Accepted" submissions from January 1st) What I've tried: Verified my Developer ID Application certificate is valid and properly installed Checked Apple Developer System Status page (shows "Operational") Verified code signatures using codesign -vvv --deep --strict Contacted Apple Developer Support (no response yet) Checked my Apple Developer account for any pending agreements or warnings (none found) Is there any known issue affecting notarization processing, or could my Team ID be rate-limited/flagged? Any guidance on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Content Filter Permission Prompt Not Appearing in TestFlight
I added a Content Filter to my app, and when running it in Xcode (Debug/Release), I get the expected permission prompt: "Would like to filter network content (Allow / Don't Allow)". However, when I install the app via TestFlight, this prompt doesn’t appear at all, and the feature doesn’t work. Is there a special configuration required for TestFlight? Has anyone encountered this issue before? Thanks!

How does Xcode26.3 Agent know about the API Documentation for non Apple Intelligence
Lets say I use a SDK that has some custom components .ie. Liquid Glass but with neon background (just for fun) . This SDK has comprehensive API Docs . Currently Xcode provides DocumentationSearch mcp tool only for Apple APIs . Is there a way to enhance api search beyond Apple SDKs , for examples seeing the definitions in xcframwork. If not can Xcode connect to local/hosted mcp-servers . Or do these have to be modified in Claude settings.

UK TAX INFO - alternative terms addendum - showing under tax forms with no visible agreement
Hello everyone, I’m facing a confusing issue in App Store Connect and hoping someone here has encountered this before. Context: • Company developer account (UK-based) • App is free to download • Only optional In-App Purchases (Apple IAP) • No external payments • Using standard App Store distribution • Paid Apps agreement is active • US tax forms (W-8BEN-E) are active Issue: Under Agreements → Tax Forms, I see: United Kingdom Tax Info – Alternative Terms Addendum – Missing Tax Info However: • There is no Alternative Terms Addendum visible under Agreements • I have not intentionally opted into EU DMA Alternative Terms • I do not have a UK VAT number (Apple should be Merchant of Record under standard IAP) Finance Support says they do not support Alternative Terms. Agreements support has not responded yet. Questions: 1. Can the Alternative Terms flag exist only under Tax Forms without a visible agreement? 2. How can a developer revert back to standard App Store terms if this happens? 3. Has anyone had Apple remove this EU DMA backend flag manually? Any guidance or similar experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance

Request for Assistance Apple Developer Account Approval Delay

It has been several weeks since I completed the registration process and submitted all the required information, but I have not received any confirmation or update yet. Some issues and questions regarding the use of the BGContinuedProcessingTask API
Hi, I have been recently debugging the BGContinuedProcessingTask API and encountered some of the following issues. I hope you can provide some answers: First, let me explain my understanding of this API. I believe its purpose is to allow an app to trigger tasks that can be represented with progress indicators and require a certain amount of time to complete. After entering the background, these tasks can continue to be completed through the BGContinuedProcessingTask, preventing the system from terminating them before they are finished. In the launchHandler of the registration process, we only need to do a few things: Determine whether the actual business processing is still ongoing. Update the progress, title, and subtitle. Handle the expirationHandler. Set the task as completed. Here are some issues I encountered during my debugging process: After I called register and submit, the BGContinuedProcessingTask could not be triggered. The return values from my API calls were all normal. I tried different device models, and some could trigger the task normally, such as the 15 Pro Max and 12 Pro Max. However, there were also some models, such as the 17 Pro, 15 Pro, and 15, that could not trigger the task properly. Moreover, there was no additional error information to help locate the issue. The background task failed unexpectedly, but my app was still running normally. As I mentioned above, my launchHandler only retrieves the actual business status and updates it. If a background task fails unexpectedly while the app is still running normally, it can mislead users and degrade the user experience of the app. Others have also mentioned the issue of inconsistent behavior on devices that do not support Dynamic Island. On devices that support Dynamic Island, when a task is triggered in the foreground, the app does not immediately display a pop-up notification within the app. However, on devices that do not support Dynamic Island, the app directly displays a pop-up notification within the app, and this notification does not disappear when switching between different screens within the same app. The user needs to actively swipe up to dismiss it. I think this experience is too intrusive for users. I would like to know whether this will be maintained in the future or if there is a plan to fix it. On devices that do not support Dynamic Island, using the beta version 26.1 of the system, if the system is in dark mode but the app triggers a business interface in white, the pop-up notification will have the same color as the current page, making it difficult to read the content inside the pop-up. Users can actively stop background tasks by using the stop button, or the system can also stop tasks automatically when resources are insufficient or when a task is abnormal. However, according to the current API, all these actions are triggered through the expirationHandler. Currently, there is no way to distinguish whether the task was stopped by the user, by the system due to resource insufficiency, or due to an abnormal task. I would like to know whether there will be more information provided in the future to help distinguish these different scenarios. I believe that the user experience issues mentioned in points 2 and 3 are the most important. Please help to answer the questions and concerns above. Thank you!

"Show on all spaces" toggles OFF after programmatically setting wallpaper via AppleScript
I'm building an automated wallpaper updater that fetches images from an API and sets them as desktop wallpaper on macOS Tahoe. The automation uses AppleScript combined with database manipulation to ensure wallpaper applies to all spaces. Current implementation (via Apple Shortcuts): wallpaper_path="$1" osascript -e "tell application \"System Events\" to tell every desktop to set picture to POSIX file \"$wallpaper_path\"" sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/desktoppicture.db "UPDATE data SET space=NULL WHERE space IS NOT NULL;" 2>/dev/null killall -HUP Dock Issue First run: Works perfectly - sets wallpaper on all spaces/desktops, "Show on all spaces" is ON After first run: "Show on all spaces" automatically toggles OFF in System Settings Second run onwards: New wallpaper only updates on the active space, inactive spaces show old wallpaper Expected: "Show on all spaces" should remain ON after programmatic wallpaper changes Actual: System Settings automatically disables it, breaking subsequent updates Tested workarounds (all failed): UPDATE data SET space=NULL to clear per-space entries Using every desktop instead of current desktop in AppleScript killall Dock vs killall -HUP Dock vs killall -USR1 Dock Clearing space_id entries from pictures table Running DELETE FROM pictures WHERE space_id IS NOT NULL before setting The database manipulation doesn't prevent macOS from automatically creating per-space entries and disabling the "Show on all spaces" toggle. Question: Is there a way to programmatically set wallpaper while preserving the "Show on all spaces" setting on macOS Tahoe? Post message: I applied to the App Store Small Business Program and received the confirmation email with the subject “We’ve received your request to join the App Store Small Business Program”. It has now been over two weeks with no further updates. I understand there may be a high volume of requests, but the lack of transparency or timeline is problematic, as every additional day directly affects my costs. I contacted Apple Developer Support to confirm that my application was received, but the reply didn’t clarify the actual review status or expected timeframe. I would like to ask others who recently went through this process: Are you experiencing similar delays in the review process? How long did the approval take in your case? Is the Small Business Program commission applied retroactively from the application submission date, or only from the approval date? If it’s retroactive, the delay is less critical. If it’s applied only after approval, the urgency is obvious. Is there any official way to escalate or get clarity in cases where the review is stalled? From your experience, is it acceptable or normal for developers to be left without feedback on a financially sensitive matter like this? I’m trying to determine whether this situation is normal or something that requires further action.

Unable to access Certificates Identifiers & Profiles as an Admin in Apple Organization Developer Program Account
Hi all, I’m an Admin user in an Apple Developer Program (Organization) team, but I’m unable to access Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles (CIP) on developer.apple.com. I’d like to understand what permission is missing and where it should be enabled. Context Program type: Apple Developer Program (Organization) My role in App Store Connect: Admin I can access App Store Connect normally, but CIP resources on developer.apple.com are blocked. The Account Holder can access CIP normally. What I see (Problem) In the Apple Developer portal → Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, I get: “Access Unavailable — You currently don't have access to this membership resource. Contact your team's Account Holder or an Admin.” In Xcode → Settings → Accounts → Team, the “Certificates, Identifiers, & Profiles” section shows a red error indicator and doesn’t load. Only my account is affected; the Account Holder is not. What we’ve tried / confirmed Membership is active (renewal date is valid) Signed out/in of Xcode and re-added my Apple ID Confirmed selecting the correct Organization team in Xcode / Developer portal Account Holder confirmed they can access CIP Questions For an Organization team, what exact permission(s) are required for a member to access Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles? Where is this access controlled — App Store Connect → Users and Access vs developer.apple.com → People? If Admin in App Store Connect is not sufficient, what additional role/setting is needed to grant CIP access?

Subscription Unavailable - Strange Behavior with StoreKit
I added my first subscription to my app using StoreKit's SubscriptionStoreView. Everything worked as expected in the debug environment and also in TestFlight. So I submitted my app and subscriptions to App Store Connect, got everything Approved and released. After updating my app through App Store and checking the Subscription View, it just says "Subscription Unavailable. The subscription is unavailable in the current storefront." I waited around 3 days and still getting the same message. Now the very strange behavior starts. I went to App Store Connect, I made and edit to the subscription description, saved, removed the edit, saved, and submitted to review. 15 minutes later the subscriptions appear in my app and everything works as expected. After getting the edit approved, the Subscription View in my app again only showed the message "Subscription Unavailable. The subscription is unavailable in the current storefront." No user is able to see the subscriptions anymore, even though it worked as expected before the edit was approved. So I did the same as before. Again, make an edit to the subscription description, save, remove the edit, save, submit to review. 15 minutes later the subscriptions are again available in my app and it works as expected. This is definitely not the expected behavior and submitting the subscription edits every day is wasting the App Review Team's time as well as mine. I contacted Apple Developer Support but I didn't get any reply back (at least yet). I am not the only one experiencing this. I found a friend online who has the exact same issue, and is able to temporarily solve it by making an edit to the subscription description as well. So far it has been a huge headache, and we are losing customers this way. Please if anyone has experience with this problem, or has any suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated. Misclassification of Mainland China real-name anti-addiction verification as “Login Service” + Unfair/Mechanical Review Handling
a I am submitting this appeal because we believe our app was misunderstood and the review outcome and follow-up communication have been unfair and mechanically handled. 1) What happened / Outcome we disagree with Our submission was rejected under Guideline 4.8 – Design – Login Services, with the reviewer stating that our app uses a third-party login service but does not provide an equivalent login option that meets Apple’s requirements (limited data collection, private email option, no advertising tracking without consent). However, our game does not require or force any third-party login. The feature being treated as “login” is not a login service at all—it is Mainland China real-name / anti-addiction compliance verification. 2) Why we believe we comply with the App Review Guidelines A. The feature in question is compliance verification, not login Players do not need to create or log into any in-game account to play. The flow exists solely to satisfy Mainland China real-name/anti-addiction compliance requirements. Verification can be completed by either: Using TapTap only as a real-name verification authorization option, or Manually entering a Chinese ID number + legal name to pass verification and play. Because this is verification, not an account login, Guideline 4.8 “Login Services” should not apply in the way the rejection message assumes. B. There is no “playable account” to provide After we clarified the above, we continued to receive repeated, template-like requests to provide a “playable account.” This request does not match our product design: there is no account system required for gameplay, so there is no “review account” to provide. We have already provided the information needed to complete the verification path (ID + name for the compliance flow), yet the responses remained repetitive and did not reflect that the reviewer checked our explanation. 3) Why we believe the handling was unfair Even after clearly explaining that this is not a login system, the review communication continued with mechanical responses that did not address the clarification. This caused significant delays to our release timeline and appears to be unfair treatment compared with many existing App Store apps that use similar compliance verification flows. 4) What we are requesting from the Appeals Team Please investigate and correct the misclassification of our real-name compliance verification as a “login service” under Guideline 4.8. If the team still believes Guideline 4.8 applies, please provide: The specific guideline rationale, and The exact screen/step in our app that is being interpreted as “login.” Please advise what specific materials you need to proceed efficiently (e.g., screen recording of the verification flow, step-by-step review instructions, configuration notes). We are ready to provide them immediately.

Testflight issue: "The requested app is not available or doesn't exist"
We submitted a build to testflight and received a confirmation email it was successfully uploaded. When we open testflight on our iPhone's (X, 6s) we get a message of "Could not install appname" "The requested app is not available or does not exist" Where appname is the name of the app. Its very confusing because I can see the build listed in testflight on my mobile device and can view it in iTunes connect. I also can't install prior builds that had worked successfully when I try.
