iOS 26 Crash: _xzm_xzone_malloc_freelist_outlined in com.apple.network.connections
Hello Apple Support Team, We are seeing a production crash on iOS 26 devices that appears to originate from Apple system frameworks rather than application code. Crash Summary Crash signature: _xzm_xzone_malloc_freelist_outlined Crashed thread: com.apple.network.connections Frameworks involved: CFNetwork, Security, libdispatch, libsystem_malloc Affected OS: iOS 26.x App built with: Xcode 16 Devices: Multiple models (not device-specific) Reproducibility: Intermittent, higher frequency during app launch / background networking Observed Stack Trace (top frames) _xzm_xzone_malloc_freelist_outlined dispatch_data_create_alloc xpc_data_deserialize SecTrustEvaluateIfNecessary CFNetwork HTTPProtocol / HTTP3Connection com.apple.network.connections App Context The app uses URLSession for networking. Multiple third-party SDKs are integrated (Firebase Analytics, Dynatrace, Appsflyer, and similar analytics/monitoring SDKs). These SDKs perform concurrent background network requests, especially during app launch and foreground transitions. No unsafe memory operations (manual malloc/free, unsafe pointers, or custom networking stacks) are used in the app code. Key Observations The crash is predominantly observed on iOS 26 and not on earlier iOS versions. Stack traces do not include application symbols. Disabling or delaying analytics SDK initialization significantly reduces the crash rate. Reducing concurrent network requests and limiting HTTP/3 usage also mitigates the issue. This suggests a potential regression in CFNetwork / Network.framework / HTTP/3 handling combined with the new memory allocator (xzone) on iOS 26. Impact Random app termination during background networking. Occurs without a clear deterministic repro path, making it difficult to fully mitigate at the app level. Request Could you please help investigate whether this is a known iOS 26 issue related to: HTTP/3 / QUIC networking XPC deserialization Memory allocation in the new xzone allocator High-concurrency network requests We would appreciate guidance on: Recommended mitigations Whether this issue is already tracked internally Any best practices for apps integrating multiple analytics SDKs on iOS 26 Crash logs and additional diagnostics can be provided if needed. Thank you for your support. Best regards, Dhananjay

Unable to Change Primary Locale for 4–6 Year Old Live App – “Missing Screenshots” Error Despite All Assets Uploaded
Hi everyone, We’re facing an issue while trying to change the Primary Language / Primary Locale of a long-standing live iOS app in App Store Connect. The app has been live for 4–6+ years. When attempting to update the Primary Locale from App Information, we receive the following error: “Primary Locale couldn’t be saved because you must first provide all the required screenshots for each version in this language.” However: The target localization (English – UK) already exists. All required screenshot sets are uploaded. No screenshot sections are blank (iPhone and iPad – all visible display sizes). Both the live version and the version in review contain complete screenshot sets. No Apple Watch or iMessage extensions are currently included in the build. A clean build has been uploaded and selected. Removing the version from review does not resolve the issue. There are no visible validation errors in the UI. This appears to be either: A hidden backend validation requirement, A legacy platform association, Or a Primary Locale lock tied to the app’s original configuration. Has anyone successfully changed the Primary Locale for an older live app recently? Is there a known limitation for apps created several years ago? Would appreciate any insight before escalating further. Thanks in advance.

Developer Program Payment Taken but Account Still Pending – No Support Response
I have been trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program for the past two weeks, but I keep encountering different errors. Most of the time, I receive a 404 error page saying, “Something went wrong. Try again.” Three days ago, $100 was deducted from my bank account by Apple, but my developer account status still shows “Pending.” Apple states that “Your purchase may take up to 48 hours to process,” but it has now been more than 48 hours and there has been no update. I have already: Sent an email to devpayment @apple.com with screenshots and full details (no response). Opened a case through Apple Developer Program Support and only received an automated reply saying, “Thank you for contacting us.” At this point, it feels like there is no real support available to resolve this issue. Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you resolve it? Thank you.

App Store Small Business Program review delay after confirmation email - retroactive or approval-based
Thread title: App Store Small Business Program review delay after confirmation email - retroactive or approval-based? Post message: I applied to the App Store Small Business Program and received the confirmation email with the subject “We’ve received your request to join the App Store Small Business Program”. It has now been over two weeks with no further updates. I understand there may be a high volume of requests, but the lack of transparency or timeline is problematic, as every additional day directly affects my costs. I contacted Apple Developer Support to confirm that my application was received, but the reply didn’t clarify the actual review status or expected timeframe. I would like to ask others who recently went through this process: Are you experiencing similar delays in the review process? How long did the approval take in your case? Is the Small Business Program commission applied retroactively from the application submission date, or only from the approval date? If it’s retroactive, the delay is less critical. If it’s applied only after approval, the urgency is obvious. Is there any official way to escalate or get clarity in cases where the review is stalled? From your experience, is it acceptable or normal for developers to be left without feedback on a financially sensitive matter like this? I’m trying to determine whether this situation is normal or something that requires further action.

Can I use combine on a property in an @Observable class?
As the title suggests, I have a class marked with @Observable. Within the class I have multiple var's. When one of my var's changes (formation), I want to run an updateOrCreateContent(). I had thought I could just do this with a bit of combine, but I'm struggling to get it working... The code below has a compile error at $formation When I mark formation @Published, it generates a different compile error: "Invalid redeclaration of synthesized property '_formation'" any help appreciated thanks class LayoutModel { var players: [Player] = [] var formation: Formation = .f433 var cancellables = Set<AnyCancellable>() init(players: [Player], formation: Formation) { self.players = players self.formation = formation updateOrCreateContent() $formation.sink(receiveValue: { _ in self.updateOrCreateContent() }) .store(in: &cancellables) }

ARKit Face Tracking works in total darkness?
I’ve seen, mainly in discussions with AIs, that ARFaceTrackingConfiguration uses the same technology as Face ID and therefore should work in complete darkness. However, I haven’t been able to achieve this. Does anyone know if this is actually true? I'm using an iPhone 16 to test, and the Face ID works well in darkness.

UK TAX INFO - alternative terms addendum - showing under tax forms with no visible agreement
Hello everyone, I’m facing a confusing issue in App Store Connect and hoping someone here has encountered this before. Context: • Company developer account (UK-based) • App is free to download • Only optional In-App Purchases (Apple IAP) • No external payments • Using standard App Store distribution • Paid Apps agreement is active • US tax forms (W-8BEN-E) are active Issue: Under Agreements → Tax Forms, I see: United Kingdom Tax Info – Alternative Terms Addendum – Missing Tax Info However: • There is no Alternative Terms Addendum visible under Agreements • I have not intentionally opted into EU DMA Alternative Terms • I do not have a UK VAT number (Apple should be Merchant of Record under standard IAP) Finance Support says they do not support Alternative Terms. Agreements support has not responded yet. Questions: 1. Can the Alternative Terms flag exist only under Tax Forms without a visible agreement? 2. How can a developer revert back to standard App Store terms if this happens? 3. Has anyone had Apple remove this EU DMA backend flag manually? Any guidance or similar experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance

Missing "Dolby Vision Profile" Option in Deliver Page - DaVinci Resolve 20 on iPadOS 26
Dear Support Team, I am writing to seek technical assistance regarding a persistent issue with Dolby Vision exporting in DaVinci Resolve 20 on my iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2021, M1 chip) running iPadOS 26.0.1. The Issue: Despite correctly configuring the project for a Dolby Vision workflow and successfully completing the dynamic metadata analysis, the "Dolby Vision Profile" dropdown menu (and related embedding options) is completely missing from the Advanced Settings in the Deliver page. My Current Configuration & Steps Taken: Software Version: DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 (Studio features like Dolby Vision analysis are active and functional). Project Settings: Color Science: DaVinci YRGB Color Managed. Dolby Vision: Enabled (Version 4.0) with Mastering Display set to 1000 nits. Output Color Space: Rec.2100 ST2084. Color Page: Dynamic metadata analysis has been performed, and "Trim" controls are functional. Export Settings: Format: QuickTime / MP4. Codec: H.265 (HEVC). Encoding Profile: Main 10. The Problem: Under "Advanced Settings," there is no option to select a Dolby Vision Profile (e.g., Profile 8.4) or to "Embed Dolby Vision Metadata." Potential Variables: System Version: I am currently running iPadOS 26. Apple ID: My iPad is currently not logged into an Apple ID. I suspect this might be preventing the app from accessing certain system-level AVFoundation frameworks or Dolby DRM/licensing certificates required for metadata embedding. Could you please clarify if the "Dolby Vision Profile" option is dependent on a signed-in Apple ID for hardware-level encoding authorization, or if this is a known compatibility issue with the current iPadOS 26 build? I look forward to your guidance on how to resolve this. Best regards, INSOFT_Fred

safeArea access in XCode 26, iOS 26
Hi. In my project, I use the following property to access the safe area via UIApplication: UIApplication .shared .connectedScenes .flatMap { ($0 as? UIWindowScene)?.windows ?? [] } .first { $0.isKeyWindow }?.safeAreaInsets However, in Xcode 26 and iOS 26, this no longer works, and in some cases the app crashes. Views that rely on this property stop behaving as expected. For example, if it’s a sheet, it does not appear. The same app built with Xcode 16 and distributed via TestFlight runs on iOS 26 without any issues. What is the correct and safe way to obtain safeAreaInsets outside of a View now?

How to open main app from ShieldActionExtension?
Hi! I'm building a Screen Time management app using FamilyControls and ManagedSettings. When a user taps the primary button on a ShieldActionExtension, I need to open my main app to guide them through an intervention exercise. Other approved App Store apps like Jomo - Screen Time Blocker do exactly this: tapping their shield's primary button opens the main Jomo app directly. Screen recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15yubtTdTkFskGCIaAw_HGB57-boHPl3a/view?usp=sharing I've tried: URL schemes (UIApplication.shared.open() unavailable in extensions) Universal links Local notifications (works, but adds an extra tap) NSUserActivity Is there a supported API I'm missing? Or another accepted solution? Any guidance is appreciated.

VideoMaterial Black Screen on Vision Pro Device (Works in Simulator)
VideoMaterial Black Screen on Vision Pro Device (Works in Simulator) App Overview App Name: Extn Browser Bundle ID: ai.extn.browser Purpose: A visionOS web browser that plays 360°/180° VR videos in an immersive sphere environment Development Environment & SDK Versions Component Version Xcode 26.2 Swift 6.2 visionOS Deployment Target 26.2 Swift Concurrency MainActor isolation enabled App is released in the TestFlight. Frameworks Used SwiftUI - UI framework RealityKit - 3D rendering, MeshResource, ModelEntity, VideoMaterial AVFoundation - AVPlayer, AVAudioSession WebKit - WKWebView for browser functionality Network - NWListener for local proxy server Sphere Video Mechanism The app creates an immersive 360° video experience using the following approach: // 1. Create sphere mesh (10 meter radius for immersive viewing) let mesh = MeshResource.generateSphere(radius: 10.0) // 2. Create initial transparent material var material = UnlitMaterial() material.color = .init(tint: .clear) // 3. Create entity and invert sphere (negative X scale) let sphere = ModelEntity(mesh: mesh, materials: [material]) sphere.scale = SIMD3<Float>(-1, 1, 1) // Inverts normals for inside-out viewing sphere.position = SIMD3<Float>(0, 1.5, 0) // Eye level // 4. Create AVPlayer with video URL let player = AVPlayer(url: videoURL) // 5. Configure audio session for visionOS let audioSession = AVAudioSession.sharedInstance() try audioSession.setCategory(.playback, mode: .moviePlayback, options: [.mixWithOthers]) try audioSession.setActive(true) // 6. Create VideoMaterial and apply to sphere let videoMaterial = VideoMaterial(avPlayer: player) if var modelComponent = sphere.components[ModelComponent.self] { modelComponent.materials = [videoMaterial] sphere.components.set(modelComponent) } // 7. Start playback player.play() ImmersiveSpace Configuration // browserApp.swift ImmersiveSpace(id: appModel.immersiveSpaceID) { ImmersiveView() .environment(appModel) } .immersionStyle(selection: .constant(.mixed), in: .mixed) Entitlements <!-- browser.entitlements --> <key>com.apple.security.app-sandbox</key> <true/> <key>com.apple.security.network.client</key> <true/> <key>com.apple.security.network.server</key> <true/> Info.plist Network Configuration <key>NSAppTransportSecurity</key> <dict> <key>NSAllowsArbitraryLoads</key> <true/> </dict> The Issue Behavior in Simulator: Video plays correctly on the inverted sphere surface - 360° video is visible and wraps around the user as expected. Behavior on Physical Vision Pro: The sphere displays a black screen. No video content is visible, though the sphere entity itself is present. Important: Not a DRM/Licensing Issue This issue is NOT related to Digital Rights Management (DRM) or FairPlay. I have tested with: Unlicensed raw MP4 video files (no DRM protection) Self-hosted video content with no copy protection Direct MP4 URLs from CDN without any licensing requirements The same black screen behavior occurs with all unprotected video sources, ruling out DRM as the cause. (Plain H.264 MP4, no DRM) Screen Recording: Working in Simulator The following screen recording demonstrates playing a 360° YouTube video in the immersive sphere on the visionOS Simulator: https://cdn.commenda.kr/screen-001.mov This confirms that the VideoMaterial and sphere rendering work correctly in the simulator, but the same setup shows a black screen on the physical Vision Pro device. Observations AVPlayer status reports .readyToPlay - The video appears to load successfully VideoMaterial is created without errors - No exceptions thrown Sphere entity renders - The geometry is visible (black surface) Audio session is configured - No errors during audio session setup Network requests succeed - The video URL is accessible from the device Same result with local/unprotected content - DRM is not a factor Console Logs (Device) The logging shows: Sphere created and added to scene AVPlayer created with correct URL VideoMaterial created and applied Player status transitions to .readyToPlay player.play() called successfully Rate shows 1.0 (playing) Despite all success indicators, the rendered output is black. Questions for Apple Are there known differences in VideoMaterial behavior between the visionOS Simulator and physical Vision Pro hardware? Does VideoMaterial(avPlayer:) require specific video codec/format requirements that differ on device? (The test video is a standard H.264 MP4) Is there a required Metal capability or GPU feature for VideoMaterial that may not be available in certain contexts on device? Does the immersion style (.mixed) affect VideoMaterial rendering on hardware? Are there additional entitlements required for video texture rendering in RealityKit on physical hardware? Attempted Solutions Configured AVAudioSession with .playback category Added delay before player.play() to ensure material is applied Verified sphere scale inversion (-1, 1, 1) Tested multiple video URLs (including raw, unlicensed MP4 files) Confirmed network connectivity on device Ruled out DRM/FairPlay issues by testing unprotected content Environment Details Device: Apple Vision Pro visionOS Version: 26.2 Xcode Version: 26.2 macOS Version: Darwin 25.2.0

Apple 403 detected - Access forbidden
Im getting this specific error 'Apple 403 detected - Access forbidden' when trying to build my app, my previous 10 builds all succesfully work but now it keeps on giving this error. I'm guessing its because of a new agreement email I recieved. But when i got to both developer website and app store connect there is no new agreements to accept. I'm quite stuck. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Regarding renewal of annual app registration fees
I've requested app development and am currently publishing it, but I can't contact the app development company and am unable to pay the annual fee to Apple. I don't know my registered account, so what should I do? I contacted Apple Japan, but they only handle personal inquiries and cannot handle business app development requests, so they suggested I post a question on this website. Thank you in advance.

Continuing my subscription after it ends
Hello everyone. I'm looking for some advice. My subscription expired a few months ago. Unfortunately, I didn't notice. Now, after some time, I've tried to renew, but I can't find a renewal button on the website, in the developer apps, or in my subscriptions. What should I do in such cases? I contacted technical support, but haven't received a response. Thanks in advance.

Unable to set subtitle when BGContinuedProcessingTask expires
Hi, I've now identified a few areas when BGContinuedProcessingTask gets expired by the system no progress for ~30 seconds high CPU usage high temperature Some of these I can preempt and expire preemptively and handle the notification, others I cannot and just need to let the failure bubble up. When the failure does bubble up, I'd like to update the title and subtitle. I'm able to update the title, but the subtitle is fixed at "Task Failed" Is there any workaround? Or shall I file a bug here?

performDrop returns true, but drag image animates away
I have a view that conforms to DropDelegate. When a file is dragged from the Finder and dropped on the view, the performDrop(info:) method successfully extracts a URL from the item provider and returns true, but the drag image slides away as if the drop had been rejected. Why? func performDrop(info: DropInfo) -> Bool { bgColor = .yellow let providers = info.itemProviders(for: [.fileURL]) print("performDrop, providers: \(providers.count)") if let aProvider = providers.first { if aProvider.hasItemConformingToTypeIdentifier(UTType.url.identifier) { aProvider.loadItem(forTypeIdentifier: UTType.url.identifier) { (item, error) in if let error = error { print("Error retrieving item provider data: \(error.localizedDescription)") return } if let url = item as? URL { print("Received file URL (from Data.1): \(url)") } else if let data = item as? Data, let url = URL(dataRepresentation: data, relativeTo: nil) { print("Received file URL (from Data.2): \(url)") } } } } return true }
