Cannot Play mp3 File via AudioContext in iOS 18 Safari
I have a Safari extension that plays audio via the javascript AudioContext API. It was working fine under iOS 17 and is now broken under iOS 18. It does not play audio at all. I've tried in both the iOS 18 public beta and the iOS 18.1 developer beta. It is broken in both of them. I've also created Feedback item FB15170620 which has a url attached to a page I created which demonstrates the issue.

Safari Extension: Cookie Header Missing in Background Fetch from Non-Default User Profile (Works in Default Profile)
When our Safari Web Extension makes a api request from its background script (registered via "scripts" in manifest.json, e.g., "background": { "scripts": ["js/background.bundle.js"] }) to our authenticated API endpoint (https://api-domain/user), the Cookie header is not included in the request. This occurs only when the extension is running within a non-default Safari User Profile. This causes our API to treat the user as unauthenticated. The exact same extension code, manifest, and API call work correctly (Cookie header is present and user is authenticated) when the extension is running in the Default Safari User Profile.

There is a sessionError object, but its code is "unknown" and the info object is empty.

Declarative Web Push
Anybody succeeded sending a Web Push Message using the new Declarative approach introduced with Safari Version 18.4 (20621.1.14.11.3)? I will help as well if someone can point me to a solution debugging the entire system using Xcode and Minibrowser? Currently I can't get the MiniBrowser connected to the WebPush Daemon.

Worker load was blocked by Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy
Hello, I am developing a website which starts a web worker using the js code: const zarrWorker = new Worker('./zarr_file.js', { type: 'module' });. The script 'zarr_file.js' is served from the same origin with Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy: require-corp and Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy: same-origin and it is importing external modules through the import statement (e.g. import * as zarr from "https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/zarrita/+esm";). All the external modules are blocked by Safari with the error Worker load was blocked by Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy, although I can see (by running curl on them) that they correctly set cross-origin-resource-policy: cross-origin`. The same website works fine in Chrome and Firefox. Is it a bug or is Safari implementing stricter policies? In the latter case what would be the solution?

SFSafariApplication doesn't transmit messages to docked website.
Hi! I'm working on a web extension for Safari and I need to send messages from the containing application to JavaScript. For this I use the method class func dispatchMessage( withName messageName: String, toExtensionWithIdentifier identifier: String, userInfo: [String : Any]? = nil ) async throws of the SFSafariApplication class. If the site is opened in Safari in normal mode, everything works as expected. However, if the site is "docked", the messages are not transmitted to this "Web App". Is it possible to somehow link the container application to the docked website so that messages from the application are received by this "Web App"? That you.

Safari Is Unusable
I have had zero luck anywhere else and it’s at this point infuriating. February 23rd of this year I submitted a ticket in Feedback regarding how Safari for me has been broken. I can’t load any website at all, I have cleared cache, data, you name it. I have reset the phone after doing so and as I type this today on a brand new iPhone 17 Pro Max it still doesn’t work. Every single app that prompts a Safari window to sign in also doesn’t work and crashes just as Safari the app does. Sometimes I get a message that pops up that says “Webkit encountered an internal error” before it crashes. I can’t provide a screen recording or screen shots because Safari just crashes. I genuinely don’t know what to do or where to go for an answer and i’ve submitted seven updates to my open Feedback ticket since February 23rd 2025, spanning months from that original date and yet no change or help has came from it. I am clueless on how to even begin to go about fixing it and agitated because it’s been so long, so many other apps effected by this, even on a brand new device Safari still does not work for me. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated I used to have a 15 Pro Max but now on the 17 Pro Max and throughout the entire time i’ve been on the developer beta. Maybe that is the issue i’m unsure because now i’m just on iOS 26 so I don’t know if it’s just stuck like this forever. Again any help would be appreciated. I have not went physically to Apple yet to get this solved it‘s been a last resort, considering my options I might have to clear time to go. I’ve been using Chrome ever since this issue.

Safari falsely flags our secure site (outdoorgala.com) as deceptive — how to request a review
Hi Apple Devs & WebKit Team, We operate https://outdoorgala.com — a verified, HTTPS-secure Canadian ecommerce site focused on elite outdoor safety gear. We're Indigenous-owned, based in Alberta, and take customer trust and compliance seriously. However, Safari (iOS + macOS) is falsely flagging our site as “deceptive,” preventing customers from accessing us — even though: We use GoDaddy Website Builder with no redirections or malware All product links are clean, HTTPS-secure, and tracked ethically We recently implemented a fully compliant cookie banner (Accept/Decline logic) A public security.txt and OpenPGP key has been published: https://outdoorgala.com/security No phishing, malware, or cloaking behavior exists on the site We’ve already submitted a review via: ➡️ https://websitereview.apple.com And filed a bug report via Feedback Assistant (FB17608544) What else can be done to speed up review or get flagged domains unblocked in Safari? This is hurting our business and blocking consumer access — despite following all Apple guidelines. Would appreciate any insights or escalation tips. Thank you! – Derek Eiteneier Founder, Outdoor Gala

HTML problem at Safari on iPadOS 18.2 or after version
We confirmed a problem at Safari on iPadOS 18.2 or after version. For confirmation, we made a HTML document (see below HTML1) what include ‘method="POST" target="_blank"’ and tested the form however server received GET method and there is no parameter, server did not receive “id” parameter. We confirmed that fact in captured packet and log file that on the server. HTML1: We also made another HTML document (see below HTML2) what include submit button, but the server received GET method as above. HTML2: And we also confirmed that it behaves differently depending on the network environment. If the form targets a name that does not exist (ex. target=” A12345”), behaves differently http or https. http: Safari opened new tag, but the server received GET method. Normally, Safari open new tag and the server receive POST method. https: Safari opened new tag, and the server received POST method. It is normally. If the form targets ‘_blank’, the server received GET method on http or https both. We think Safari change the method POST to GET and delete parameters. It is not conformed to the HTML specification if is that true. We confirmed it was not happened at Safari on iPadOS 17.4, and Windows PC (Edge, Chrome). The method what the server received is POST. We find same problem in Apple Support Community (see below URL). https://discussionsjapan.apple.com/thread/255987615 (Described in Japanese) Is it a bug in Safari on iPadOS 18.2 or after version? Do you have plan to fix? Or if fixed the bug, when do you release fixed version.

Unable to send a message from website to Safari web extension
I've been unable to successfully get a webpage to send a message to a Safari web extension, no matter what I try doing. I've added the following to my manifest.json file, and it's running manifest v3 { "externally_connectable": { "matches": [ "*://mywebsite.com/*", "*://localhost:3000/*" ] } } My web page executes the following code snippet. I've tried this both while running my site locally (on localhost) and pushed to production. let safariExtensionId = "co.companyname.productname.Extension (ABCD1234)" browser.runtime.sendMessage(safariExtensionId, { greeting: "hello"}, function(response) { console.log("Received response from background page"); console.log(response.farewell); } ); In the Safari web extension's background.js file, I've added the following onMessageExternal listener: browser.runtime.onMessageExternal.addListener((message, sender, sendResponse) => { console.log("Received message from the sender."); console.log(message.greeting); sendResponse({ farewell: "Goodbye!" }); }); This is directly copied from the instructions in this WWDC video: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/safariservices/messaging-between-a-webpage-and-your-safari-web-extension It's also extremely difficult to debug what's happening since the extensions service working frequently does not appear in the Web Extension Background Content menu Is there something I'm doing wrong, or a bug I'm not aware of?

Unable to Open HTTP Site B from HTTP Site A in WKWebView – Stuck on Spinning Wheel (Xcode 15.2 and above, VPN Enabled, Cross-Domain)
After upgrading to Xcode 15.2 or above(Till Xcode 16.2), users are unable to open Site B (HTTP URL) from Site A (HTTP URL) within our Browser app when loaded in WKWebView. Clicking the link to Site B results in a spinning wheel, but the site does not load. This issue is not present when the app is built with Xcode 15.0.1. Additionally: Users are connected to a VPN, which is required to access the sites. Site A and Site B are on different domains (cross-domain request). Expected Behavior: Clicking the link to Site B should successfully load the site with user information passed from Site A. Current Behavior: Clicking the link results in a spinning wheel, but Site B does not load inside WKWebView. Technical Details: Both Site A and Site B use HTTP (not HTTPS). Site A and Site B have different domains (cross-domain request). Do not use location.href for transitions. Instead, we temporarily set about:blank in an iframe and then submit data via a form to the target system’s URL within the iframe. This approach worked in Xcode 15.0.1 but fails in Xcode 15.2 or above. Users are connected to a VPN, which is required to access the sites. WKWebview is not receiving navigation delegate callback for Site B Steps to Reproduce: Ensure the device is connected to a VPN. Open the app (using WKWebView) built with Xcode 15.2 or above. Load Site A (HTTP) within the app in WKWebView. Click the link to Site B (HTTP), which should open in an iframe. Observe that a spinning wheel appears, but Site B does not load. Environment: Xcode Versions Affected: 15.2 or above (issue present), 15.0.1 (no issue) iOS Version: All iOS versions Devices: iPad Questions: Has there been any change in WKWebView’s handling of HTTP URLs or VPN-related network traffic in Xcode 15.2? Are there any new security policies, iframe restrictions, or VPN-related changes in this version that might be affecting this behavior? Request for Assistance: Can you confirm if this is a known issue or an intended change? Are there any workarounds available?

Sign in with Apple JS inside an iframe
Hi everyone, My web application has two services: myapp.com and account.myapp.com. The first manages all app content, while the latter handles the authentication, with Sign In with Apple included. The tech stack is mainly composed of React, JS, and Express. We'd like to allow users to authenticate inside a dialog on some pages of myapp.com. To avoid replicating stuff from one service to another, we put an iframe inside the dialog to show the authentication standard page from account.myapp.com. Email and Facebook processes work fine, but we have the following issues with Sign in with Apple: On desktop, not Safari, a pop-up window opens when you click on the Apple button, and it works as expected. On desktop Safari, the pop-up window is blocked. We want the native Apple pop-up to show instead of a generic browser new window. On mobile, nothing happens on click Obviously, outside the iframe, everything works as expected. I can't seem to find anything related to an iframe constraint in the Sign in with Apple docs. Is this feasible?

iOS26 Safari rendering bug even on latest beta 3
I am testing stuff on a website, and it worked well on any mobile browser till iOS18. Now that I am testing iOS26, even with the latest BETA (3) everything works smoothly on any other mobile browser but Safari. Previously I had the bug, which now has been patched, for status-bar, which was flickering too, but popover and page issue seems still there. I have persistent popover and ajax navigation, and both are rendering with bugs and fouc while view/page changes. Example: If I have an element which must stay on its place and its width is 100vw: while page changes it blinks, shrinks, flicker and jumps on rendering, while it simply must stay as is.. Animations and page transitions work smoothly on Chrome mobile (latest iOS 26 beta 3) , while breaking on Safari. I did open a feedback FB18328720, but seems no one caring. Any idea guys? ** Video of the bug (which is huge!) : ** https://youtube.com/shorts/rY3oxUwDd7w?feature=share Cheers

Safari browser compatibility issue
I have a local HTML file used to display mixed content with images and text. Here's the issue: the same file displays everything correctly in Google Chrome, showing both images and text as expected. However, when opened in Safari, only the text is shown—images are missing, which is very strange. Interestingly, if I remove .png from the title attribute of the tag, the images show up properly in Safari. Alternatively, if I comment out the inclusion of html2canvas.min.js, the images also display correctly (although the layout breaks without it). I'm not sure if this is a Safari-specific issue. Can anyone explain what might be causing this problem?
