Provisioning Profile Missing com.apple.developer.alarmkit Entitlement – No AlarmKit Capability in Developer Portal
Hello everyone, I’m working with AlarmKit (iOS/iPadOS 26) and encountering a critical blocker. On the simulator, after adding NSAlarmKitUsageDescription to Info.plist, AlarmKit functions as expected—no entitlement issues. However, when building to a physical device, Xcode fails with: “Provisioning profile … doesn’t include the com.apple.developer.alarmkit entitlement.” The core issue: there is no AlarmKit capability visible under App ID settings or provisioning profiles in the Developer Portal. Thus, this entitlement cannot be enabled or included in a profile. Steps taken so far: Reviewed WWDC25 AlarmKit session and documentation. Reviewed Apple Developer documentation on entitlements and provisioning. Verified there's no AlarmKit toggle or capability in the Developer Portal (Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles > Identifiers). Submitted multiple Feedback requests via Feedback Assistant, but received no technical resolution. Questions: Is there meant to be a separate AlarmKit entitlement (distinct from Critical Alerts)? If so, when will the com.apple.developer.alarmkit entitlement option be available in the Developer Portal? In the meantime, how can developers test AlarmKit-based features on physical devices? Could an Apple Engineer advise on whether an internal entitlement workflow or workaround exists for testing? Thank you in advance for any clarity anyone can provide. I'm stuck at a total impasse until this is resolved. —John Current Project Configuration Relevant Parts: info.plist: NSAlarmKitUsageDescription Schedules system-level alarms that break through Do Not Disturb and Focus modes to ensure alarms trigger reliably. Alarm.Schedule.Relative gets scheduled to next day if too close?
Hi there, Thank you for the framework 🙏 if I use Alarm.Schedule.Relative with Alarm.Schedule.Relative.Time(hour: hour, minute: minute) and Alarm.Schedule.Relative.Recurrence.never it seems like there is some (odd?) limit where alarm will get scheduled to next day if too close? For example, lets say the current time is 12:00 PM, if I schedule alarm for 12:02 PM, it will schedule it for next day, while if I do 12:05 PM it will work as expected. Is that expected? If yes, what's the behavior and is that documented anywhere? I would expect any alarm thats scheduled in the future to fire for the current day (maybe if it's only 1 minute it gets tricky). One problem is also that even if the framework says an alarm is scheduled, I don't have access to the "next alarm date"? I wish I did as otherwise I have to compute it (by "guessing" the AlarmKit calculation) if I want to do anything with that date. Honestly, sometimes I think I am just going crazy when the alarm doesn't fire, but there SEEMS to be some odd behavior around this? (of course, feel free to correct me on anything - I could be missing documentation or not understanding something)

Case-ID: 14080335 Push notification requests to iOS devices using APNs (HTTP/2) time out
We are currently developing a WebAPI service that uses APNs (HTTP/2) to send push notifications to iOS devices. (Using PushSharp's HTTP/2 support) The WebAPI service is running on IIS using .net framework 4.8 and c#. The connection to APNs is always maintained, and the connection is checked every 30 minutes using a dummy token Ping. KeepAlivePeriod = 30 minutes and KeepAliveRetryPeriod = 10 seconds have also been set. However, the following issues are occurring. Although the Ping sent immediately before was successful, a TimeoutException occurs in the notification request sent a few minutes later. There is no explicit disconnection notification from APNs, and the connection appears to be silently disconnected. Once a TimeoutException occurs, it occurs frequently afterwards. Below is an excerpt from the log. Apple Notification Failed for some unknown reason 1-1: One or more errors occurred. Apple Notification Failed for some unknown reason 1-2:System.TimeoutException: The operation timed out. In light of this issue, I would like to be advised on the following two points. Are there any official specifications regarding the lifecycle and expiration date of APNs HTTP/2 connections? Even if pings are sent periodically, is there a timeout or other setting that disables the connection on the APNs side? What are the conditions that would cause APNs to silently terminate a connection? For example, could this be due to inactivity, TLS restrictions, network maintenance, etc.? If you have any official documentation or technical guidelines to improve the reliability of this system, we would appreciate it if you could share them with us. Thank you in advance.

What is the expected behavior for a notification service extension if the user has not been prompted for requestAuthorization()
If an iOS application has a notification service extension which gets sent a push, but the user has not been prompted for notification authorization via requestAuthorization() then what is the expected behavior? Will the push get delivered to the NSE but the resulting notification not displayed? Or will the push not get delivered at all to the NSE?

Why are non-critical notifications quieter than critical alerts at max volume?
When I turn the Ringtone and Alerts volume all the way up, I expect standard notifications to play at the loudest level the device allows. In theory, this should match the volume of a critical alert with its sound.volume set to 1.0 in payload. However, I’ve noticed that non-critical notifications still play quieter than critical alerts under these conditions. Critical alerts with volume: 1.0 sound noticeably louder than standard notifications, even though the Ringtone and Alerts slider is already set to maximum. And I couldn't find a documentation for this behavior anywhere. Is this expected behavior on iOS? And is there any way to make non-critical notifications play at the same maximum loudness as critical alerts? Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Notification Service Extension not getting invoked on macOS
I’m testing remote push notifications on macOS, and although notifications are received and displayed correctly, my Notification Service Extension (NSE) never gets invoked. The extension is properly added as a target in the same app, uses the UNNotificationServiceExtension class, and implements both didReceive(_:withContentHandler:) and serviceExtensionTimeWillExpire(). I’ve also set "mutable-content": 1 in the APNS payload, similar to how it works on iOS — where the same code correctly triggers the NSE. On macOS, however, there’s no sign that the extension process starts or the delegate methods are called. import UserNotifications class NotificationService: UNNotificationServiceExtension { override func didReceive(_ request: UNNotificationRequest, withContentHandler contentHandler: @escaping (UNNotificationContent) -> Void) { let modified = (request.content.mutableCopy() as? UNMutableNotificationContent) modified?.title = "[Modified] " + (modified?.title ?? "") contentHandler(modified ?? request.content) } override func serviceExtensionTimeWillExpire() { // Called if the extension times out before finishing } } And the payload used for testing: { "aps": { "alert": { "title": "Meeting Reminder", "body": "Join the weekly sync call" }, "mutable-content": 1 }, "MEETING_ORGANIZER": "Alex Johnson" } Despite all correct setup steps, the NSE never triggers on macOS (while working fine on iOS). Can anyone confirm whether UNNotificationServiceExtension is fully supported for remote notifications on macOS, or if additional configuration or entitlement is needed?

Push notification MacOS "discarded as device was offline"
Hi everyone, I am having issues with all my MacOS devices (3 so far) and push notifications. My app is in development and when i send a Test APN (From the Push Notification Console) to any of my MacOS devices (using the device token), the log is "discarded as device was offline". Fun fact, if i run the command : sudo kill apsd I receive the previously "discarded" Push notification immediately. Is it a known bug or something is wrong in my configuration ? Note : my debugProfile.entitlements is fine and the value is set to "development", i have already reloaded my certificate by cleaning the project and rebuilding (according to ChatGPT) but nothing works... I am using Xcode 26.0.1 and MacOS 26.0.1 on my 3 different MacOS devices all having this issue. Thanks in advance, Tom

Notification Service Extension and the main thread
Question, if I am writing async code in the notification service extension, I understand it terminates after 30 seconds. If I want to wait until these async methods finish before calling the content handler, I believe an option I have is to use dispatch groups. However I am open to other solutions if there are better options. My question is, if I use dispatch groups, is there any issue in using the main queue here? Or does the main thread not make sense to use in the context of the NSE? dispatch_group_notify(group, dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{ if (self.contentHandler) { self.contentHandler(self.bestAttemptContent); } }); Or is it recommended to instead use a different queue in the NSE? dispatch_queue_t nseQueue = dispatch_queue_create("com.blah.blah.nse.queue", DISPATCH_QUEUE_SERIAL); dispatch_group_notify(group, dispatch_get_global_queue(QOS_CLASS_(SOMETHING), 0), ^{ ... }); OR am I over thinking this? :) Thanks ahead of time, relatively new to iOS so just looking to learn/understand better.

AlarmKit alarm UI strings are lost after updating OS
I have a working AlarmKit app, but I've noticed that after any iOS update (e.g. the 26.0.1 update from a few days ago), my scheduled alarms seem to lose their UI strings, so instead of the Stop button saying "Stop", it says "alarm_ui_stop_button" (which is my localization key for the button text). If I delete the alarm and re-add it, then it works again... until the next software update. It seems like OS updates are interfering with the link between scheduled alarms and app localization strings, which I believe are dynamically looked up at alarm time (not at configuration time). I am settings the strings in the standard way like this: AlarmManager.AlarmConfiguration( schedule: .fixed(date), attributes: AlarmAttributes<SDAlarmMetadata>( presentation: AlarmPresentation( alert: AlarmPresentation.Alert( title: "alarm_ui_title", stopButton: .init(text: "alarm_ui_stop_button", textColor: .yellow, systemImageName: "xmark") ) ), metadata: SDAlarmMetadata(title: title, subtitle: subtitle), tintColor: .yellow ), sound: .default ) Has anyone else noticed this or found a workaround? I guess I could use localization keys that are identical to the desired text, but this would only work for one language.

Push notifications - Traffic gets "server-rst"
It seems our company server is sending to Apple push service the push notifications that are supposed to be transferred to devices our app is installed on – but you it seems you are blocking the request We can see traffic going out from our server side towards the apple gateway notification server using port 2195 and we can see that the traffic gets "server-rst" meaning that the apple gateway server kills the connection You might need to whitelist our external IP's

APNs keep returning unregistered token
Hi, we've observed a weird behavior for a small amount of our user that we keep receiving the same token from APNs despite it's shown as Unregistered. When we try to send push to the token, we got an Unregistered error so we remove that token from our server. However, later we would receive an add token request from the client with the same token we just removed, and when we try to send to the token it returns Unregistered again so we remove the token again. This happened 3 times for a user in an hour. The identifierForVendor remains the same for all the requests. We also owns the client and I've checked client code that it's sending the token it received from didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken to the server.

Push Notification Gets Removed From Notification Screen When Setting "badge" to 0
Push message on the lock-screen disappears in one specific instance. In general the situation is as follows: the application, upon starting up, sets the badge counter (i.e. notificationCenter.setBadgeCount(3)) the application is being sent to background the screen is locked (it doesn't matter if it's turned on or not) send a push message to the application and set the badge (in aps) to "0" What happens: the screen lights up (unless it's lit up already), the push is being displayed for a very short time and gets hidden. Happens on iOS 18.1, 18.1.1, 18.2. If not setting badge in the aps keys it works correctly. I've created a feedback report https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/feedback/16095572. I am able to reproduce the issue on a sample app 100% of the time :/

Missing notification – APNs success but not delivered to device
We have a customer reporting that they didn’t receive some of their push notifications. On November 3, 2025, four push notifications were sent — the customer received the first three but not the last one. Our logs show a successful response from APNs, with the apns-id c116d650-efc6-4fb1-8a74-382d5bab4692. A very similar case occurred on October 31, where the customer also claimed not to have received the notification, yet our logs again show success from APNs with apns-id 1468ef43-66d6-40d2-b10a-c96889fcb65a. Wondering if there any way to help us to trace these cases. Thanks

The APP was not awakened after start a liveactivity
The APP was not awakened by system after start a liveactivity and the liveactivity has showed on lock screen.so the updatetoken wont send to our inner server and the liveactivity can not update, often like this, but sometimes it can work. it makes me confuse, and i don't know how should i can do,because the liveactivity like a black box,i can not analyse the data link.for example ,inner server send a start liveactivity, but it can not accept a updatetoken unless the user lanuch APP. i hope the liveactivity can start and update on background. And i have developed it as described in the document. Hope to get your help, thank you very much.

APNs returning successful response for a token from an app that was uninstalled more than a month ago
We are observing an weird behaviour where a user uninstalled the app back in February (more than a month ago) but APNs is still accepting push notifications are returning success responses. We know that using APNs response codes for uninstall tracking is not reliable and that Apple will use fuzzy schedule to invalidate tokens. However, showing successful responses for month+ old tokens seems a bit misleading and results in wasted token processing for both us and Apple. Could you please confirm that invalidation (or fuzzy schedule) could take more than months to invalidate tokens on the APNs side? Is that expected or is this a bug somewhere?

AlarmKit Volume and Volume Buttons
Excited for AlarmKit! I have found two concerns that I cannot find answers for though. The volume of my alarms seems to be very quite relative to the full volume capability of the device. For example, if I turn the volume all the way up and play the audio file, the sound is very loud. However then, if I set the alarm using alarm kit with the same audio, the track played during the alerting phase is not that loud. I am afraid that it will not be loud enough in real life. Will there be future support to set the volume level of the alarm to maximum settings? When I press the volume buttons (with the app open) during an active alarm, the audio stops, but the alarm manager does not clear these events. The alarm manager does clear the alarm event if the alarm is stopped through a live activity.
