In our app we provide a button that initiates a phone call using tel://.
For normal numbers, tapping the button presents the standard iOS confirmation sheet with Call and Cancel.
If RTT is enabled on the device, the sheet instead shows three options: Call, Cancel, and RTT Call.
However, when dialing a national emergency number, this confirmation dialog does not appear at all — the call is placed immediately, without giving the user the choice between voice or RTT.
Is this the expected system behavior for emergency numbers on iOS?
And if so, how does RTT get applied in the emergency-call flow — is it managed entirely by the OS rather than exposed as a user-facing option?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been analyzing the current state of Sign Language accessibility tools, and I noticed a significant gap in learning tools: we lack real-time feedback for students (e.g., "Is my hand position correct?").
Most current solutions rely on 2D video processing, which struggles with depth perception and occlusion (hand-over-hand or hand-over-face gestures), which are critical in Sign Language grammar.
I'd like to propose/discuss an architecture leveraging the current LiDAR + Neural Engine capabilities found in iPhone devices to solve this.
The Concept: Skeleton-based Normalization
Instead of training ML models on raw video frames (which introduces noise from lighting, skin tone, and clothing), we could use ARKit's Body Tracking to abstract the input.
Capture: Use ARKit/LiDAR to track the user's upper body and hand joints in 3D space.
Data Normalization: Extract only the vector coordinates (X, Y, Z of joints). This creates a "clean" dataset, effectively normalizing the user regardless of physical appearance.
Comparison: Feed these vectors into a CoreML model trained on "Reference Skeletons" (recorded by native signers).
Feedback Loop: The app calculates the geometric distance between the user's pose and the reference pose to provide specific correction (e.g., "Raise your elbow 10 degrees").
Why this approach?
Solves Occlusion: LiDAR handles depth much better than standard RGB cameras when hands cross the body.
Privacy: We are processing coordinates, not video streams.
Efficiency: Comparing vector sequences is computationally cheaper than video analysis, preserving battery life.
Has anyone experimented with using ARKit Body Anchors specifically for comparing complex gesture sequences against a stored "correct" database? I believe this "Skeleton First" approach is the key to scalable Sign Language education apps.

In Apple’s first-party apps like Settings, I’ve noticed an inconsistent approach—some cells use the Button trait, while others simply announce the label along with the Selected trait when applicable, without any additional role like Button or Adjustable.
So my question is:
What is the most appropriate accessibility trait to use for a selectable table view cell that updates a selection (like a settings option)?
Is using .button the right approach, or should we rely solely on .selected?
Is there any user experience guideline from Apple that recommends one over the other?

I am invoking the UIImagePickerController of type UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypePhotoLibrary from my viewController. I want shift the keyboard focus to the Cancel button which is the first interactive element on the gallery picker. When a user has full keyboard access turned on they should be able to tap tab and interact with the gallery picker modal. How do I achieve this?
Say I have a UI element that moves on the screen. Is it possible to update its accessibility frame as it moves while VoiceOver is focused on it? From my tests, VoiceOver ignores UIAccessibilityLayoutChangedNotification if it's sent repeatedly in a short period of time on iOS, while sending NSAccessibilityLayoutChangedNotification on macOS triggers VoiceOver to reannounce the focused element repeatedly.

I’ve been reviewing the Apple Wallet provisioning documentation (Getting Started with Apple Pay In-App Provisioning_ Verification_Security_Wallet Extensions )and had a few questions regarding the color path recommendation (Green, Yellow, Orange, Red) returned during the in-app provisioning flow:
Who determines the color path—is it Apple directly, the Payment Network Operator (PNO), or both?
What criteria are used to determine the color path (e.g., device info, Apple ID reputation, past provisioning attempts)?
At what point in the provisioning flow is the color path recommendation received?
Is it included in the response after the PKAddPaymentPassRequest is submitted?
Is it accessible through any specific property or callback in the delegate method?
Additionally, for Orange Path with Reason Code 0G, I understand that in-app verification is not allowed and must be handled via tenured channels (e.g., SMS/email). Can you confirm if this logic still applies for requests initiated from within the issuer's iOS app?

I need to direct text-to-speech generated audio from my app simultaneously to a bluetooth speaker device AND to the internal iPad speaker. The app uses AVSpeechSynthesizer and several third party speech engines. How best to do this?

While it is possible to scroll content using VoiceOver on macOS, I was not able to find any NSAccessibility APIs related to it (such as accessibilityScroll: on iOS).
At present, in iOS, if using the in-house app, there may be crashes in the new iOS 18.3 and later versions, but it works normally on other phones and the certificate is not problematic.
A total of 3 machines were found, and there was no pattern between the machines and the system, with different models and versions.
We tested it on a machine that crashes, but the app downloaded from the store doesn't. If the same app is packaged and installed directly in the development tool, it will crash. Is this related to compatibility with the new version of IOS?
Is there a solution? Do others also have relevant situations?

The Personal Voice file created in English changes to either Spanish or Chinese and no longer works properly. This has been happening since Beta 1 of iOS/iPadOS 26.
I have been unable to pinpoint what causes this to occur. Possibly downloading foreign voices to a device or using different voices via AVSpeechSynthesizer.
I run an app in Xcode on my device that prints to the console info about the installed voices. Initially after creation here is the output:

Language: en-US
Then I hear a Spanish accent and find this:

Currently it isn't working and here is the output:

Note that the voice file on all three above is the same. No matter what the user does, the created voice file should never be able to change languages. On my test devices I reset them all by erasing all content and settings and creating a new English Personal Voice and the issue persists.
A side issue is the toggle share across devices doesn't remain off if turned off. I tried to not share to see if that could be the cause, but the toggle turns on automatically. It won’t remain off.
Since the last bet upgrade for iPad to 26.3 labels have disappeared.
Going into system/accessibility the toggle setting for labels makes no difference whether on or off.
labels are permanently not there/missing.

I'd like to add borders to all buttons in the iOS simulator from my Mac app. First I get the simulator window. Then I access the children of all AXGroup and if it's a button or a static text, I add a border.
But for some buttons this does not work. In the example image the NavigationBarButtons are not found. I guess the problem is, that for some AXGroup the children array access with AXChildren is empty.

Hi guys, I'm facing an issue with the native interface to add a card into the wallet - does someone have some ideas on how to fix/work around that?
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Disable VoiceOver (Settings → Accessibility → VoiceOver → Off).
Connect and confirm that you can navigate other iOS interfaces using an external keyboard.
In any app, present a PKAddPassesViewController with a valid .pkpass file.
When the Wallet “Add Pass” sheet appears, attempt to navigate using only the external keyboard (Tab/Arrow/Enter).
Observe that focus does not move to the Cancel or Add buttons, and no elements receive keyboard focus.
EXPECTED RESULT:
All interactive elements in PKAddPassesViewController (e.g., Cancel and Add) should be fully keyboard accessible without requiring VoiceOver. Users should be able to navigate, select, and complete actions using only a hardware keyboard.
ACTUAL RESULT:
Keyboard navigation is not possible.
No elements receive focus.
Users cannot activate Cancel or Add buttons using keyboard input.
The only way to interact is by touch or enabling VoiceOver, which does not satisfy keyboard accessibility requirements.
IMPACT:
Violates WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard Accessible).
Prevents keyboard-only users (including users with motor disabilities) from adding passes to Wallet.
Affects users of external keyboards who rely on tab/arrow navigation.
Creates an inconsistent accessibility experience compared to other iOS system modals.
On recent versions of macOS, when a window is being shared (via the system screen-capture APIs), the OS sometimes shows a small "shared window" badge in the title bar.
I’ve noticed that this indicator is not consistent:
For some windows, the badge reliably appears when they are being shared.
For other windows, the badge never appears, even though the window is actively shared.
In particular, windows that use a standard system title bar seem to show the indicator more often, while windows with custom-drawn or non-standard chrome do not.
My questions are:
What are the exact conditions under which macOS decides to draw the “shared window” indicator in a window’s title bar?
Is this strictly tied to certain NSWindow styles or masks (e.g. titled vs borderless)?
Is there any API or flag I can use to detect programmatically whether a given window will display this system indicator when shared?

I created a desktop app for Mac using Xojo. The app has a controller in the main window and displays advertisements and notices on a connected external display.
I'm currently connecting my iMac24 to a REGZA-55M550M via AirPlay, and displaying video from the iMac to the REGZA, but the connection occasionally drops out. Yesterday, the connection dropped about 3.5 hours after connecting. Of course, I have other apps running on the iMac, but I'm not using any operations that would put a strain on the network or memory.
Does AirPlay connection to non-Apple products become unstable over long periods of time?
